The Polybahn in Zurich offers an exceptional experience for both children and adults alike. It provides a delightful and seamless journey to the upper part of Zurich, revealing a plethora of captivating sights along the way. One cannot help but appreciate the convenience and efficiency that the Polybahn bought to the city's transportation system since 1889. It is a fantastic engineering and I can't believe it is 140 years old.

For families with children, the Polybahn presents an exciting adventure. The anticipation of ascending to the upper reaches of Zurich is met with awe-inspiring vistas that unfold as the funicular makes its ascent. The young ones are sure to be enthralled by the ever-changing panorama that includes picturesque spots like the university and various museums.

Not only is the Polybahn an ideal choice for seeking an entertaining day out, but it also appeals to those with an inclination for exploration and discovery. As the funicular glides upwards, passengers are treated to breathtaking glimpses of the cityscape that gradually unveil its charm. The journey itself becomes an immersive experience, allowing riders to witness the interplay of history and modernity within Zurich's landscape.

Upon reaching the upper part of Zurich, a world of opportunities unfolds. The proximity to renowned landmarks such as the university and museums provides visitors with a rich cultural experience. The university stands as a testament to Zurich's status as an educational hub, while the museums offer a journey through art, history, and science. One could easily spend hours engrossed in the exhibitions and displays that offer a glimpse into Switzerland's...

Was useful back in the day but it's more of a novelty today. The ride is really short, about two minutes and it takes you up a small hill to the University that most can easily walk up in 10 mins. You buy your ticket at the kiosk in front of the station or the SBB app and board the funicular. If you have the Zürich Card or the Swiss Travel Pass, it's included for Free. They tend to check your tickets at the top. There's no amazing view during the ride but it was fun to experience what it was like back in the day. I took it up and walked down and it was fun to walk around the two...
