There are dining experiences, and then there's the revelatory journey Restaurant Rigiblick takes you on; it's not just a meal but a transcendence into gastronomic nirvana. From the moment I ascended to its scenic perch overlooking Zurich's pristine, picturesque vistas, I knew I was in for an unparalleled treat.
The ambiance strikes a delicate balance between intimate sophistication and a warm, welcoming glow. The panoramic views are nothing short of a visual feast, complementing the real masterpieces that arrive on your plate. As the city lights twinkled in the dusk, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening.
At Rigiblick, the menu is a fluid symphony conducted by none other than the culinary maestro, the head chef. The dishes are innovative and daring yet grounded in a comforting familiarity. The seasonal ingredients are the show's stars; each presented to the table with an assurance of freshness and a celebration of local produce.
Our culinary journey commenced with an amuse-bouche that teased the palate with an explosion of flavors, setting the bar exceedingly high. However, course after course, each dish gracefully met the challenge. From the tender, perfectly seared scallops paired with a vibrant, citrus-infused emulsion to the main course, a succulent cut of venison that melted in the mouth, enriched by a symphony of autumnal accompaniments.
The sommelier demonstrated more than knowledge. Each bite was a revelation from pure intuition, pairing each course with an impeccable wine that enhanced and harmonized with the flavors on our plates. Evidently, the wine list had been curated with just as much love and expertise as the food menu.
Service at Rigiblick deserves a standing ovation. The staff exudes professionalism, knowledge, and an infectious passion for the culinary arts. They navigated the space between attentive and unobtrusive with a practiced ease, anticipating every need before it was realized.
And just when we thought our experience had crescendoed, the dessert proved us wrong. A deconstructed interpretation of a classic was a delightful surprise that engaged all senses, the perfect endnote to a symphony of tastes.
Restaurant Rigiblick doesn't just serve food; it's a curator of moments, an artist of flavors, and a weaver of unforgettable experiences. It's a shining testament to the adage that dining is not just about eating but an understanding of the soul. For anyone looking to elevate their culinary journey to an art form, Rigiblick is a destination to be noticed.
Five stars do not suffice for the spectacle that is Restaurant Rigiblick; it's a celestial experience...
Read moreCame away with very mixed impressions... The menu looks quite attractive. I asked for the wine menu but only got a suggestion of the Pinot they help producing (ordered it, found it ok but not at par with any other Pinot, even from the same sun-deprived region); I ordered a mineral water with gas and got one without; the pumpkin soup tasted floury; the calf liver was fine, and they nicely agreed to exchange their odd choice of risotto as a side dish with something else, except for the classic Rösti, which they resolutely do not offer... When it came to dessert, I realized that all 7 items on that menu contain ice cream. No alternatives. And it's late November, ice cold outside, about to snow. The lady serving me (she appears to own or at least run the place) was surprised to hear that, and then did the exact opposite of what one does in such cases: she dug in her heels, said how tasty the desserts are, and that they were very proud of their ice creams 😂. All in all: some decent food, served with unshakeable convictions that they know what's good for you. Such as ice cream only for dessert in...
Read moreAfter an short but exciting ride on a Furrnicular which took us on top of the hill,we were pleased not just with the views but also the refreshing break at this restraunt. We went without reservation and were lucky to find a spot. The cozy ambiance and the friendly staff were very inviting on that cold day. We tried the local swiz delicacies Kase Spätzi and Asparagus Soup which was heartwarmingly delicious. The subtle flavours of the asparagus combined with the creamy base and hint of parsley conpleted the wholesome feel of the soup. The Spatzi was good but a bit heavy for me. The portions were generous and the service was quick. The highlight of the meal though was the dessert. The Shoggi and Pistachio icecream was the most smooth, flovourful and the most fresh icecream I have tasted so far. Worth a visit for local...
