Linde — Restaurant in Zurich

I was there to celebrate my birthday with friends because I'd been there once and the food and service had been really good. But at that evening it was terrible! We had to wait about an hour, just to get our starters and then again for half an hour or so, to get our main course. However it got worse! The silky fowl was hardly cooked and almost cold and raw. Furthermore the brussls sprouts were ice cold, what means that they'd been frozen and hadn't been cooked long enough... We made our complaints and the service told us in a rather rough way, that it wasn't there fault. We got the "bad" menues again, this time they were quite good, and they offered us a dessert. Despite this effort we'll never come again... i still wonder how such mistakes can happen in a cuisine with a generally...

We visited as part of a tour and gathered in the upstairs Coat of Arms Room. This room is noted for the Coats of Arms painted on wooden ceiling tiles. If one takes the time to study these and the side walls, the Coat of Arms paintings are described. The gathering was about the dinner and we were offered a pre-set choice of Lamb or Trout. The trout was a bit watery, but the lamb was excellent. Dinner was preceded by a mixed greens salad and some great bread. They were served with a vegetable medley and au gratin potatoes. The Plum Tart for dessert was also very good. There were 50 of us and the kitchen was downstairs. Hard to understand the hype about this place. We had a group dinner with 20+ people but the organization and the waiters’ attitude were extremely poor.

1. Some of us were almost ‘forced’ to pick either a vegetarian or the fish option just because too many meat option were already picked.

2. This is definitely the worst Rosti I have ever had. Even Coop’s Prix Rosti tastes better. Too much salt.

3. There have been two other attitude-related problems during our dinner, which I am not going to disclose here now.

Overall, I did not enjoy the dinner here and I would never recommend anyone especially for business-related group dinners. Maybe they are just stressed too much when serving such...
