Spectacular cuisine!! Absolutely hats off to the chef and all kitchen staff, they do a sublime job! Four of us, we ordered 7 different starters, and they were incredibly tasty, amazing quality ingredients (veggies, calamares, kingfish everything) cooked to perfection. Service is loose and chilled, the ambience is lively, rowdy, enjoyable. We even tried a main and the paccheri was cooked perfectly the ragu was so so tasty. Summing it up, you can rarely find a place with such heart and caring coming from the kitchen and still serving yummy stuff and not some new age foamy non-sense. It is fresh, it is modern, it is fusion but accessible. And the prices are more than fair! I don’t know how long this can last but I suggest for everyone to go and take advantage!!! From the outside Alten Lowen looks like what the Swiss call a "Beiz" which would be like a pub where the locals hang out to drink beer, play cards, smoke, watch ski races, and eat schnitzel. That's because it used to be a "Beiz." Times change for the better 😉 The AL has had a good scrub and is now a comfy but rather upscale restaurant. My lunch menu was Jamaican Pumpkin Soup, Pan Fried Sole with Braised Pumpkin and Homemade Gnocci, followed up by an Espresso Croquant with Espresso Foam. Very nicely prepared and presented.
