Ristorante Grotto Reale — Restaurant in Zurich

In town with colleagues, multiple of whom were on a retirement vacation. I was pleased to find this restaurant close to our hotel. More of a neighborhood restaurant than a tourist experience, which we preferred. Made a reservation (highly recommend!) and we were greeted and cared for warmly despite some language barrier. Good wine list, honest recommendations for specialties of the house. Food was all good; the specialty dishes we tried were fantastic. We were not pushed out the door to turn the table, as is so frequent in the US. Will plan to visit again if in Zurich and tell others going to Zurich looking for a wonderful experience to try them. ...

Went here for Christmas dinner and had a great time. Staff were friendly and even emailed me in advance to confirm I’ve seen the menu.

The restaurant was quite busy, comfortable seating, and nice atmosphere. I had the Christmas menu, and my mother had the scallopine. The food was incredible - the Christmas menu was a bit much for one person but still worth it, especially the kurbis soup and the steak.
