We reserved a table online for 12:00 on a Sunday and arrived just five minutes late, but still had to wait another ten minutes before being seated. We were placed at the high table in the corner, which turned out to be quite uncomfortable — one side had a stool with a footrest, but the other side was a high bench with nowhere to rest your feet. As someone on the shorter side, it was a bit tricky to climb up and sit comfortably.
The menu is quite small, and unfortunately, two dishes were already unavailable by the time we ordered. We chose the Banh Xeo, the brisket, and the tartar — all three were excellent. The food was beautifully presented, very fresh, and full of flavor. The only small issue was that I was given a butter knife for the brisket, which made it a bit difficult to cut; later I noticed another table received steak knives for the same dish.
The orange juice was freshly squeezed, though slightly watered down.
Service was friendly but a little inattentive — sitting in the corner high table, we felt a bit forgotten. We had to flag down the waitress to order and again to get the bill. She apologized at the end for having overlooked us. The kitchen staff cleared our table midway, but only partially.
Overall, the food is outstanding and well worth a visit, but I’d recommend requesting a regular table instead of the high one, and coming earlier in the day (around 10:30) to make sure all menu options are still available — and to enjoy the experience without...
Read moreIt makes me sad to say but we didn't enjoy the brunch experience as much. We had to wait to get the menu because those were being used at other tables (not a problem as such. But the restaurant wasn't even full and menu was not updated online.)
We had ordered - Amalfi Mezzelune, Abu's Traum and Des Kaisers Schmarrn and two hot drinks. Nothing stood out in terms of flavour :( To me lot if it was bland; for my husband- just "okay" Atmosphere and service are average - nothing too great, nothing bad.
We have been to a number of vegan / veg restaurants in Zurich- KLE, DAR, Marktküche, Mohini, Tibits, Hiltl, Dapur, Klara's Kitchen, Vegetaleria, Enzian, Sarvanna Bhavan, The South Indian etc etc - the others we go back to regularly and often. Sein - not so sure. I think we will give it one more chance, just to support plant forward movement - and hopefully our...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to SEIN in Zurich, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional culinary experience. The dishes, including the steak bagel, morning gyoza, taco azul, and carne crudo, were outstanding and surpassed my expectations. As a meat lover, I was particularly amazed by the flavors and creativity of each veggetarian dish. The interior, adorned with dark green tones, adds to the restaurant’s charm and creates a cozy atmosphere. For those seeking a unique dining experience beyond the typical 0815 Züri hipster offerings, SEIN is the place to be. The price is as tou expect it to be in Zurich. Züri prise halt. I look forward to...
