Edit: thank you for the kind response, changing my review to 5 stars! I have a lot of respect for restaurants who are willing to listen to criticism and make changes based off of it.
Original message: Our experience at Weisses Rössli was rather mixed. The restaurant does not seem elevated/ elegant from the in- or outside. It gives off more of a diner vibe with a lot of forks and knives set in a trove on the table and many guests sitting closely together. There was only one set of cutlery laid out, which is strange for an elevated Restaurant where you eat multiple courses. The trove of cutlery that blocked 1/3 of the table for most of the meal seemed like a strange addition and something I hadn't really seen outside a very casual setting.
Overall, the restaurant got very very loud. It felt like a bar and conversations were impossible to follow. This is obviously not the owners fault directly but maybe inviting smaller groups or elevating the vibe of the restaurant could help.
The food was as disappointing as the service. For most of what we had, the taste was good. But it's very apparent that the look of the dish is more important than the edibility. Edibility should always come first.
First of all, everything served on the plate should be edible. Second of all, if you serve meat that needs to be cut, you need to supply knifes made for cutting meat. I had a miserable experience trying to cut my meat with a mere butter knife. My husband attempted to tear away the piece of duck that he was sawing at with his butter knife, only to have it fly off of the table. While this was partially his fault, it wouldn't have happened with a proper meat knife.
The zucchini Mille-feuille is pretty to look at but inelegant to eat. Cutting into it makes the hummus, which holds the zucchini together, slide around. The assembly is too large not to cut otherwise. The dessert we were served, a peach in wine, was not enjoyable at all. The taste of alcohol was overpowering and the skin of the peach made it impossible to cut through and enjoy. I've made a similar dish with pear many times before and it's not supposed to taste like a shot of cheap wine and the texture is supposed to be soft enough to be penetrated with a spoon.
I would give this place a worse star review but I respect the work of this young chef and his team. I hope that this restaurant can grow and improve in the future with a focus on edibility (how the guest eats the food)...
Read moreWeisses Rössli restaurant has always have an special place on my heart; this is my second visit, my first since Chef Ivan Capo has make a complete transformation of the place making it a top place for an unique and amazing dining experience, for family, friends or just a romantic dinner, there is the place.
The service was friend, professional, warm and unique in Zurich, with a great charismatic and product knowledge approach, I can assure you, you will enjoy every minute of it, I had to recommend to get the paring with your meal, it will elevate the whole experience especially with no alcohol option as well, but if you like just couple of drink, they will guide you well.
The restaurant atmosphere is cozy, personal, elegant, warm and unique, with great decoration and ambient.
The food, which from beginning to end was amazing, we had the pleasure to experience this fine dining restaurant and the touch of Chef Ivan and his Team, starting with the Appetizer; never imagined enjoy so much a pizza until now. We begin with the recommendation of the chef, the truffle, champagne pasta course and the deer tartar; both full umami, creaminess and balance, every bite worth to enjoy. Next course, caramela, signature dish of the Chef Ivan, I can describe it as magic, I was feeling tickle and pleasant mouth feeling by eating this dish, some people call this a food org*, my wife had the vega Cauliflower option, so much flavour and complexity in a plate, as I said just magic.
Next courses, wild boar which I requested as an addition course before the main course. Just perfect texture, balance dish. Tender, creamy, with the crunchy of the kale and the rich texture of the sauce and sesame and truffle aromatics/flavours; just another masterpiece. The main course was the fish dish which was a great end of the savoury courses and my wife had Veal course, we were so exited of these courses, we even forgot to take pictures.
To finish the night as per desserts, the baba and the Sea Buckthorn were just perfect balance/flavour and texture.
In overall, elegant, sophisticated, flavourful and unique experience. I can say; don’t hesitate twice to go and enjoy yourself with their service. It is completely understandable why they were rewarded with 15 Gault Millau … I am looking forward...

I had the privilege of dining at Weisses Rossli not too long ago, and the experience was beyond my wildest expectations. Petit but delectable fois gras terrine accompanied by toasted brioche comprised the amuse-bouche that commenced my meal. I ordered the seared scallops with black truffle risotto as an appetizer. The scallops and risotto were both exquisitely prepared and flavorful. I accompanied my veal cheeks with roasted root vegetables for my main course. The root vegetables and tender, juicy veal were both prepared to perfection.
Additionally, I had the privilege of perusing the wine list, which encompasses an extensive assortment of Swiss and global wines. With her extensive knowledge and assistance, the sommelier assisted me in selecting the ideal wine to complement my meal.
In its entirety, my dining experience at Weisses Rossli was rendered beyond all comparison. The ambiance, food, and service are all of the highest quality. Weisses Rossli comes highly recommended to anyone in search of an exceptionally memorable...
