A little bit off the beaten paths but still only a few minutes by tram from the city centre. Beautiful old factory building with an exceptional high-end interior making the impossible possible: being very classy but cozy and warm at the same time.
The food menu is one of a high-end Californian steak house. It offers a wide selection of different US imported meats (I would go with the New York Strip Steak - was the clear favourite in our group of 6). Appetizers are typical coastal Californian cuisine (we tried a few and clear favourite in our group was the incredible crab cake). Overall the food is very very good. This is reflected in the price (the high-end US imported dry aged beefs are a a bit more expensive than in other places in Zurich).
The wine list is exceptional and the clear highlight - especially if you are a wine lover. While there are a few options below 100 francs, most of the 600 different wines are more expensive. However, the prices are more than fair and much lower than what you would pay in many other restaurants (double or even triple the price). So while you will spend some extra bucks on the food, you will be more than compensated thanks to the fair wine prices. And even if you don't want to spend more than CHF 100 per bottle you will get much (much, much) more for your 90 francs than you would get for the same amount at most other restaurants in Zurich. The wine list is mainly focused on Napa Valley (and some more west coast) wines with a vast library of older vintages of many of the Napa superstars. A wine lover's dream...
Service was great, young and cool team, not stiff at all but still very professional. That contributed a lot to the great atmosphere. The head sommelier Giuseppe is amazing - passion and knowledge at its best.
Great place, highly recommended,...
Read moreI recently visited at Napa Grill on my birthday, and it was an exceptional experience. Located near the Zurich Google office, the restaurant boasts a wonderful atmosphere that complements its culinary offerings.
The menu at Napa Grill is a nod to tradition, featuring a selection of delicious dishes. I opted for the New York steak, which was perfectly accompanied by grilled vegetables and sweet potatoes. Each component of the meal was flavorful and well-prepared. It’s worth noting that every steakhouse has its own unique approach to preparing steaks, and Napa Grill was no exception. The taste was distinct and memorable.
For my starter, I chose a special item from the menu. The quality and taste of this dish were truly remarkable, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of their offerings.
Napa Grill’s extensive wine collection was impressive, and I was pleased to find my favorite Pinot Noir among their selection. The wine perfectly complemented my meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.
A delightful surprise was the birthday cake, thoughtfully arranged by my girlfriend and presented by the restaurant. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to the celebration.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Napa Grill to anyone looking to savor a new taste in grilled steak. While the prices may be slightly higher compared to other steakhouses, the exceptional food quality, customer service, and ambiance justify the expense. It is with great enthusiasm that I award Napa Grill a...
Read moreThe restaurant is very beautiful from the inside and the furniture and general interior design appears to be high in quality and very well maintained. We ordered the 34 oz porterhouse to share with mac & cheese and corn on the side. The steak was high in quality and had a strong char flavor from the fire grill. The mac & cheese was decent and the corn was uniquely tasty. The service was a mixed bag. We were served by different staff throughout the night, some better and some worse. The wine card is extensive and features everything a wine lover would want, with the exception of a few options at a lower price point. The cheapest bottle is around CHF 85 which is already quite expensive. We would have also liked to have a cocktail to start our dinner experience, however, despite there being a bar in the restaurant, there was no cocktail menu. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. The only big minus point came when we saw that we were charged CHF 28.50 for three bottles of still water that we didn’t even know the price of. As we were drinking expensive wine, we assumed the water was included as tab water usually is. CHF 9.50 for a bottle of water is greed and leaves a bad taste in any customers mouth. We can only recommend that this gets reviewed...
