PLEASE READ….entered the restaurant on Saturday (4.9.21) with my family excited to have some Arabic food, there was no one to welcome us or even look at us, waited there for 5 mins then someone acknowledged us and took us to our table. The waiter came after 10 mins to take our order and when we spoke to her in English she didn’t understand, she then said I will call my boss who’s Arabic, he came and he was the WORST person I’ve ever dealt with!! When tried to ask if they have shawarma, he looked at me and said I am not a take away, this is a restaurant, we don’t do shawarma!! I then said ok, he then rudely said look at the menu and when your ready order and walked away without me even saying what else I want, he disappeared for 10 mins and I was debating whether to give them one more chance or not, he came back and then was like have you decided with a raised voice, so I politely replied yes we are, but before we order can I ask if the food is halal ? And his response was “what’s the difference?” I found that very rude and disgraceful!! I told him get me a manager I want to have a word with, he was like I am the owner and if you don’t like it, your welcome to leave!! This shows you what type of person this owner is, a clear CROOK and fake person, who probably cheats his customers and doesn’t care about customer service. AVOID this place !! One star is GENEROUS! Read moreWe had a reservation at 8:30 PM. Although the restaurant was quite crowded, there were several outdoor tables available, and we were seated right away without delay. Unfortunately, the service was slow and poorly organized. It took time to get the menu, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and rushed. I didn’t feel comfortable placing my order — it felt like I had to decide quickly so I wouldn’t hold them up.
We ordered lamb arayes, lamb kebab, hummus Beiruti, cheese rolls, fried kibbeh, vine leaves, and Ayran. The Ayran was thick and salty — not authentic at all — and served with a thin straw that didn’t work. Hummus and cheese rolls were good, but the vine leaves lacked real Lebanese flavor. The kibbeh and arayes were decent. The lamb kebab arrived very late, after we had finished everything else, which was disappointing.
There were no napkins on the table, and no one asked if we wanted water. Overall, it was a weak experience. It’s a shame to see a Lebanese restaurant in a city like Zurich fall short like this. They need better customer service and more staff to maintain quality, especially...
Read moreDelicious food, but absolutely insulting waiters. I have been in many middle eastern and Lebanese restaurants all around the world, and I have to say La Cedre could be ranked among the good ones in terms of food quality. However, the head waiter may insult you and may ruin your dinning experience. We have been there a couple of times and the head waiter has been on and off, sometimes bothering us! And with our experience last time, we would hardly return back. In the middle of getting our order, the head waiter said the two dishes are too much for us, and he left us without letting us even completing our order for starters and drinks! After a couple of calls, we received our incomplete order and we had to continue calling him to continue ordering. We received our first dish, which was Farousch mischui, but it was half baked and very poor in quality compared to our past experiences with Cedre. The food quality issue happened for the first time, but the rudeness of the head waiter has been a returning and...
