This cafe is located on Yanji Street in the Xinyi District of Taipei, featuring a charming vintage decor. On my visit, I didn’t have a reservation, but fortunately, I was seated immediately. Before entering, the staff kindly asked us to sanitize our hands since there are cats in the cafe, which is a nice touch for hygiene. I spotted a lazy little black cat lounging on the floor as soon as I walked in—adorably cute! They offer a variety of coffee, cakes, and main dishes. I initially wanted to try their salted caramel latte, but it wasn’t available that day. Instead, I ordered a hazelnut latte and a Half Baked Chocolate cake. Both the food and coffee were quite good. The cafe also sells various groceries and provides restroom facilities. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, although the air inside felt a bit...
Read moreHad a very relaxing evening during pouring rain last night. I’m visiting town for conference and just happened to run into this place not knowing what to expect and WOW, what a cute cafe full of surprises! Cozy environment, cute cats, friendly owners, everything in the store was very comforting.
The food was hearty (I ordered braised beef rice and pan-fried dumplings) and the milk tea tasted very fresh (I think it was meant to be sweet and I asked for little sweet assuming US standard, here I think that means more like 10% sweetness). Seemed like they also have a pretty unique craft beer selection as well, but they were out of the toasty lager so I didn’t get to try the beers…
If you want to get the vibe of how the locals really live, I’d take a visit...
Read moreThis is a wonderful little cafe that we stumbled upon in Taipei just up an alley off the main street. The interior is very eclectic with fun pieces of furniture from all over and has an inviting and warm feeling.
What we especially loved was the single-origin coffee they served here. It is an honest pour-over style coffee, patiently made over several minutes, with a good selection of beans from all around the world.
They served the coffee in a small glass carafe which can be poured into a smaller drinking glass. This is such a wonderful technique! It let's you regulate the temperature to your desire, and you can even experiment with different levels of black/milk/sugar with each round of coffee in the drinking glass.
We had a great afternoon...
