Personally find it overrated, might not recommend to my friends unless they are really desperate to have some decent western brunch.
Good Good vibes, very Melbourne liked industrial deco
One of the only so called “Australian brunch cafe” that really have an semi-outdoor dining area. Enjoyed the sun shower and green (not the road though)
Food is made with real materials and not instant sauce. Nice bread (not typical Taiwanese bread with is sweet and full of sugar), nice cheese (really cheese not those weird cheese here), nice bacon and ham (real ham not weird flappy ham here).
Decent flavour (definitely need more salt though), simple but delicious.
Bad Coffee is rather...not good. Small and weak. Not a special beans but at least not like typical “dark roast” coffee bean people use in Taiwan that gives you such over roasted burnt smell.
Drink and food waiting time is beyond rediculous. Waited 20-30 mins to get 2 cups of latte, the pie was somehow served before coffee😧. Pancakes dish comes after 30-40 mins (yes, pancake took 30 mins to cook). And another sandwich dish took 50 mins upon order (they did mention it took longer to cook so I am fine with it then).
I ordered the “mooloo brunch plate”, and was told by the waitress 5 mins after ordering that “we are out of the roast potato” (it was 1pm). I said “oh ok, can I choose fries or any other things to replace it”. She said “no sorry we can’t do that, the kitchen said either you take the dish without potato or you choose another dish.”.😐 I said “do you reduce price if I order it without potato?”. She said “no, we can’t do that” (I knew she can’t make any decision just following instructions, didn’t give her hard time, just wanna clarify). I ended ordered something else.
Waiter and waitress are really nice, but I don’t think they provide such “services” that they should charge 10%. I had to replace my own empty water bottle with a new one, and took salt and sugar by myself (mainly because they don’t have enough people to acknowledge me and I didn’t wanna wait). Need to ask for extra...
Read moreOverall, I don’t recommend this place. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and relaxing enough, but the food we ordered today were both very bad quality , and today wasn’t even busy. (Our first visit) Fish and chips($450): totally blackened as shows on the photos, not even mention the quality of the fish is THE WORST IVE EVER HAD in my entire life, the chips as well so soft and doesn’t seem quite fresh, I believe the photo speaks for the food itself.
Margarita pizza: the taste of pizza was ok, but it’s WAY TOO OILY! When we took one up, the oil is dripping from pizza?!
As the food are truly unacceptable especially for this price, we feedback to the restaurant at once, all we received are excuses and apologies which are totally fine, it’s not like we care about free treat, it’ll just be a nice gesture and polite things to do when you have a customer who’s pretty upset about their food, we complained so they can make better next time.
However, the dessert... So we sort of wanna get pass the awful food and ordered desserts, the waiter took our order at once without saying anything. So my friend’s dessert came and my didn’t, after 15 mins I asked about my flan/ pudding, the restaurant said “oh! Do you have a dessert stick?” We said “no, what’s that?” Restaurant: “sorry, some of our desserts are RESERVED, we cannot serve you if you don’t have a dessert stick.....”
So that’s my last straw..... If you have the stupid rule! Why don’t you let us know in the begging except waiting for another 20 mins? Why not make a sign!!! And worst of all, you sent the waiter over who originally took our order and ask him to offer us free treatment as an apology ON HIS ACCOUNT? (He seems new and he did said 我請你們吃其他甜點🍮而不是我們餐廳招待你們)
I REFUSED TO SUPPORT AWFUL COMPANY LIKE THIS ONE.
Overall, my experience in this restaurant is absolutely awful, I’m not going to...
Read moreMy laptop and I visit a lot of cafes. As an author, I’m always looking for good places not only to eat and drink but to sit and write for hours. As a teacher, I believe in scoring according to various criteria. With that in mind, these are my opinions about this one.
Food: * I had the winter warmer black rice porridge, which was a delicious and healthy combination of black rice, oats, and a variety of fruit. I would definitely get it again. Drinks: ** I had the dirty chai latte—a first for me. It was less sweet than lattes usually are, but they were happy to give me more sugar when I asked. I chose hot instead of iced, but it was barely warm. I like both chai and lattes, but I decided putting them together is not the thing for me. I'm sure this one would taste great to someone who likes the combination. Prices: * Definitely on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for here. Variety of Menu Options Available: * Lots of drink, breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner options. Variety of Non-Coffee Drink Options: * There are a number of teas, smoothies, juices, etc. Next time I want to get the fresh fruit lassi! English Menu? yes Wi-Fi/Charging Ports Available? There's wi-fi, but I didn't see any charging ports or outlets. Pleasant Environment/Comfortable to Write In: * The wooden benches and chairs are rather hard, and many seats don't have backs. There are a couple of cushioned options, though some of them don't have backs either. The background music wasn't too loud or distracting. Customer Service: * They spoke English and were helpful. :-) Hours: 7:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday What was the...
