Do not come here if you want to be in an environment free from cigarette smoke.
The door of the cafe is kept open and this allows the smell of cigarette smoke from people smoking in the chairs right next to the door and on the patio to enter the cafe.
I asked if it was possible to move from the table right next to the door and the server offered a much smaller table. I asked about a similarly sized table in the middle of the cafe and she said that because they keep windows open, the smell of cigarette smoke would probably be there too.
This problem could be avoided by not putting chairs right next to the door (or not allowing people to smoke in these chairs) and not keeping windows open, which seems totally unnecessary anyway given that the cafe has AC.
While the servers were friendly and attentive, there are many cafes in Taipei where service is good and patrons aren't forced to inhale toxic cigarette smoke so I would not recommend this cafe to...
Read moreFood and coffee were both excellent. However, the service was sub-par. There were no vegetarian options on the brunch menu. We were told we could swap out the chicken on the dish for mushrooms. When the food arrived the chef had said mushrooms are more expensive than grilled chicken (really??? How cheap is your chicken?) so he had put a pork banger on the dish instead. We weren't informed of this before the meal arrived. We removed the pork and someone else ate it. We then paid for extra mushrooms to ad to the dish and said they might as well bring the chicken that we paid for, someone else would eat it. When the mushrooms arrived, it had been fried up with the chicken. Even though the food was great, it was a hassle to get my gf a decent veggie meal and even then it was prepared and...
Read morePleasant cafe serving burgers, pasta, daily specials, in addition to coffee and tea. Not a dining destination by any means but the food was expertly cooked and presented. Recommend the pesto sauce as it tasted extremely fresh. Wife loved the fries so much we ordered a second batch. Nicely decorated inside with the eyes inexorably drawn to the large, lighted "LOVE" sign ensconced above. Unfortunately, when we dined, the owners were present, monopolizing three tables and the waitstaff with their guests and treating the entire restaurant as if it were their living room, with children running helter skelter. Would be a safe, affordable venue for a first date. Toddler-friendly as evinced by the high chairs available and aforementioned rugrats . Immaculate bathrooms with...
