A very local traditional looking an good late supper shop which my friends and me search on google by chance.
Around 10 we want to have some good food and drink to eat and chat, and after searching the restaurants around DaAn district, we find this one is very appealing to us. Not only it’s decorations are traditional Taiwanese one, but most importantly it’s operated by a bunch of young adolescents. You can see the staff have put a lot effort in decor details, from wall paintings to menu and chairs/tables. You really feel like go back to the 80s or 90s. And the food is also good too, especially their signature spicy noodles! They use thick noodles and dry cooked it, make you want to eat bowl after bowl. We have ordered some other food and not bad too, together with rice wine make us have a good supper night.
It’s always good to support youngsters effort, and this restaurant has it own strong identity too (especially the Lennon wall to support the neighbor city). It opens till late and if you are finding for a good place and food after 10, this is a very good...
Read moreBeen coming to this establishment for years and have always been super impressed with the quality of the food. If I can give this place a 6 out of 5 star, I would. It’s that good.
Everything dish is created to overwhelm your taste buds with delicious explosion of flavors. Everything goes perfectly with beer. I like everything on the menu, but if I really had to choose these are my go to dishes: 腐乳鹹酥雞 (Fried chicken) 主廚雞油飯 (chicken rice) 地方花椒麵 (spicy noodles) 桔醬豬五花 (grilled pork belly marinated in home-made honey sauce) 串烤牛小排 (grilled boneless beef rib) 厚切黃金脆薯 (fried potato wedges)
The charming old school decor creates a warm, cozy dining experience; perfect for informal gathering with friends and breaking ice on hot new dates.
The service staff is energetic and enthusiastic; always ready to make your dining experience unforgettable.
As this restaurant is super popular, you should call at least 3 days in advance to make reservation on weekdays, and 1 week in advance...
Read moreHad to wait a bit to get in, even though it was late evening - that is a good sign of the place being well liked. And I would say, deservedly so! The staff has been very sweet, friendly, and professional, and the decor and general atmosphere is really cozy and traditional-feeling.
The food was very good - the pork skewers with “Taiwanese Pesto”, Kumquat Honey, and the Sichuan Noodles were remarkably tasty, and I feel like I could have eaten them until I burst! The lotus root salad was definitely something else, very interesting texture, and a refreshing palate cleanser between different bites.
My girlfriend and I also enjoyed the selection of millet and rice wines, very flavourful, and they were a perfect contour to the food.
It’s a bit pricey, as far as Taiwanese food goes - but still, we’ll be back for sure! We loved it, it was a perfect...
