The restaurant itself is alright, the way I was treated as a customer who doesn't speak too much Chinese was not very pleasant at all though. The restaurant itself advertises online in English language, the menu comes with an English translation as well, so I thought it was fair of me to expect at least some form of accomadating towards a guest, that doesn't speak or Chinese fluently.

How erred I was with that expectation.

Ordering from the menu, it was complicated for my Taiwanese companion to clarify that I don't eat certain ingredients and would prefer an alternatively prepared variation - usually, a wish that is happily fulfilled in most restaurants, especially in this relative price range. Here, while I was offered to have a different fried rice variation, for the appetizer I was only offered to choose an additional plate of another course, with exception of the main course. All this was not explained in English language to me, I had my companion translate for me. The waiting personnel seemed more annoyed by the appearance of a guest that doesn't speak Chinese, as I was barely even honored by a simple look during the ordering process.

As the reader of this review can now expect, what exactly the pre-prepared sauces, onions and salt preperations were to be used for was not explained to me by the service personnel. Unfortunately, they barely made an attempt at conversing with me, they only ever tried to talk to my companion. I am saddened that not even a "You're welcome", "thank you", "would you like more water?", "Would you like another beer?", was asked to me by the wait staff.

The appetizer was aten without me, as I chose to have a second dessert in its place, so my first course after the bread was an onion soup. Its flavor was fairly light, for my taste missing salt and pepper, so I kindly asked a waiter to be handed a salt and pepper dispenser. After repetition, I was not understood and had my companion translate for me. After adding those, the soup had a pleasant taste, but not so strongly of onion.

The main course was first offered in a small portion size to check with the customer if the meat was according the preference, which is a good concept. Unfortunately, again I was not clearly made aware of this idea until it was translated to me, which did not happen by the wait staff. The meat itself was good in quality, together with the sauce and garlic it had very good flavor.

The fried rice, that should've been made in a variation for me, was served in the regular version for me at first, until the waiter was made aware of it and I got a replacement a few minutes later. The flavor was ok, for me personally a bit plain.

For dessert, we were guided to a different room. At the same time, my companion was asked on behalf of me if I was full, which I denied. The response was, that I will be served another portion of fried rice. This one arrived after I had my second course of dessert.

Speaking of dessert, the in the first place promised second course, because I did not eat the appetizer, was forgotten by the waiters, but happily my companion reminded the personnel of their promise.

Summarizing, the food itself is good, but the way foreigners who have not made an effort to study Chinese for years are treated not as second, but probably closer to third or even fourth class customers at this venue. I was deeply disappointed by my experience at this restaurant, especially taking the reputation and the price point into consideration.

The restaurant itself offers a feedback form to customers, and this is where I firstly wrote this review. Sadly, their feedback form only supports texts up to 2000 characters, so I have share my review witb the restaurant through...

A division of the brand locates near to the memorial hall is on the second floor. A MRT exit is quite near and thus makes transportation easy. It is better to book a seat for it is usually busy during rush hours. The brand provides meal set of grilled food prepared on the iron plate, all freshly fried or cooked on the spot. They change the menu regularly to provide new courses and combination. While appetizer, salad and soup are tasty, their steak and duck are the best choice! Besides, the alcohol-free carbonate drink and lemon sorbet are both nice! The food is zestful and luscious with various sauce and spice. Bread and the shrimp risotto can be added for free. Their dessert and beverage is also delicious as a fine delicacy after the main dish. Their service is very good, and the staff is responsive to attend customer's need. Light music gives cozy and relaxing feeling. As the price is considered high, the experience is surely worth it for a delightful meal...

Certainly! Here's an expanded and polished English translation:

The ambiance at "Chamonix Teppanyaki" (夏慕尼新香樹鐵板燒) is remarkably upscale and refined. All the chefs are tall and handsome, preparing dishes right in front of the guests. The dining experience is centered around carefully curated set menus, each course beautifully presented.

After the main teppanyaki portion of the meal, guests are courteously guided to a separate, elegant dessert room—away from the teppanyaki grills—where desserts and beverages are served in a more relaxed, lounge-like setting.

This thoughtful transition adds a sense of occasion and completion to the meal, highlighting the restaurant’s attention to detail and dedication to a luxurious...

If you're looking for a set meal with multiple courses so you get a little of everything, this might be fine for you. I however didn't enjoy this meal. The size of the scallops and abalone were tiny. I'd rather you serve me one full size scallop instead of 2 baby ones, each cut into halves to make it even smaller bites. The ribeye was cut into tiny pieces about the size of a McDonald's french fry. That is no way to eat steak! Service was acceptable. I would prefer to go to one of the many cheaper teppanyaki places around Taipei (under $300NTD set lunch with unlimited rice and soup), actually tastes better and greatest CP.

Lots of customers during lunch time period. Food quality is good, and service is also up to par as expected, and consistent between different service staff members. As the price level is higher than normal restaurants, and it's getting more and more competitive against others having similar price level, in my opinion. Out of all the dishes I tried today, I like the dessert of chocolate cake with mousse inside, and the iced milk tea which had a mild taste, and slight sweet flavor just on the top which was very nice and balanced.

The quality of food is great. Bread, soft drink, and fried rice are unlimited. However, it’s too crowded to enjoy the meal. The service could be better for 2 reasons. First, Staff didn’t introduce every meal clearly. Therefore, sometimes we didn’t really know how to eat some food in a better way. (Ex. What kind of sauce should we eat with bread) Second, toilet was dirty. Overall, it’s a great restaurant for food but not environment.
