I have mixed feelings about this place. My family are from Taiwan but I dont speak mandarim. My first time on this restaurant was in 2018, and I had an amazing experience, the food was really good and the waitress was really patient explaining in english to me. So this year when I came back to Taiwan, I brought my friend to have dinner and we had a good time too. I only had a problem the last time I went there with my grandma, because the service was lacking. I actually dont mind if the food takes a while to get ready, but what really got me upset is because my grandma tried to call the waiters several times and they just completly ignored her or tried to pretend they didnt see her. It just made me feel we were not wanted there or they just straight up didnt want to serve us, like we were just being tolerated there… Im not saying they had to butter us up, but I was expecting a little more patience to hear our concerns about the delay since we had a time limit...
Read moreI came here for lunch with my father before heading home for the US. This is one of the more traditional Taiwanese restaurants. We typically go to the one inside the Taipei 101. Unfortunately the quality, portion size, and the price for their Taipei 101 location has gone downhill. I guess the Taipei 101 site is expensive to operate. This location is not as attractive as the Taipei 101. It is smaller and a bit noisy for our taste. There is nothing to complain about the dishes available. We were stuffed and had some leftover to take home. It only cost about $1,300 NT (about $20 USD per person). It is recommended that you make a reservation. If you want to make a reservation for the same day, you will have to call...
Read moreTraditional Taiwanese cuisine recommended by a Taiwanese friend. Overall I found their dishes has sugar as one of the dominant flavour which I’m not quite used to. The stir fried liver is interesting and quite tasty. The young octopus does not clean too well and there are part of clear spine and intestine should be cleaned and removed. The 3-spice chicken is disappointing - cooked too long and the chicken is not tender. The radish omelette is the most successful dish. Taiwanese sausage is sugar dominant. I guess if someone like sweetness in savoury dishes they would enjoy the...
