Hands down my favorite Gin bar. Yung-Pei Kao is the sweetest bar tender. He made my drinks to perfection while teaching me more about Gin. I’ve always been passionate about Gin, but he showed me the different nodes that gets brought out at different Gin locations.
My official favorite is the rose water from South Africa. He made me a off-menu drink with egg whites and raspberry. I would 100% recommend it for those who don’t like too sweet drinks and prefer floral favorite things.
The vibes are pretty chill during the weekday, I didn’t have to wait too long for my drink and I had space to talk.
Other drinks I tried: Aviation (tasted blue :P) and Old Fashion Twist (tasted like yummy apple pie)
Overall, very clean place with a nice theme and great drinks.
I came back here for a second time and this time I made reservations for the inside bar. You get a special code to get in there and it's really cozy inside. You can't have groups with more than 4 people. They let you do gin tastings over here.
This time, the bartender asked me what kind of drink I'd like. I told them anything with egg-white and sour. He brought out different gins for us to taste in. I was with 3 other people so ended up having around 7 gin bottles with tasting glasses.
I ended up ordering a drink with the yuzu gin from Japan. It...
Read moreI broke a glass, unfortunately. I am so sorry for that incident and am willing to compensate for that. When I was to examine the bill with the broken charge of the glass, i was told i cannot examine whether the glass was of the quality to the standard with the charge as they were made in italy ( as told by one of the bartenders not by examination). I was drunk and whatever glasses should be of good quality under that status. But I was not able to examine the glass because it was not necessary (as told by the bar tenders). I was like how come I could not examine the quality of something that I broke so as to compensate for it and let the company charge whatever they like. All I needed was to check the glass, of which I had 2 glasses of cocktail already. Still it was not necessary (沒必要去看我打爛的杯子是不是真的意大利做的???of which i have some expertise)
I am so sorry for the other bartender who kept communicating with me. He was good but the other one was a bit rude.
The 1st and 2nd glasses of gin based cocktail were of similar flavour, though I told the bartender that I like the richer and thicker (fruity or nutty) flavor ( the second bartender just didn't listen). They were still like a bit dry. So gotta learn the language to communicate with the bartender in a more...
Read moreIf you love gin or are curious about gin, this place is a must visit in Taipei! I was overwhelmed by the attentiveness and knowledge of the staff. They really did all that they could to ensure I would enjoy my visit. In the main bar, it is cozy and they have a fun and unique menu. They use an app called Sideflix (I think created by the owner?) and it is a fun and creative way to order drinks. For those who really like gin, it may be possible to go to the hidden bar behind a vault and password protected. In here, the world of gin expands and you are able to try unique cocktails based off of a flavor wheel of gin. They also go above and beyond in making sure you get what you want. For example, I went with "grassy" as my first flavor and 3 unique gins were brought to me and I got to sample them before then choosing one and then receiving a unique cocktail that was a twist off of a Last Word.
This place is a gem and the owner and staff are so friendly. It has my highest...
