The place is so cool!!! A vegan luwei (滷味) restaurant, specially designed.

A long high wooden table in the middle of the space. Customers all sit at the same table with other customers. I felt a little weird and strange at first, but then I knew this kind of arrangement of seats broke down the distance with other people, making customers feel they were back to the old days when people were so close to one another even though they didn't know each other.

Walls are grey with the concrete. Along the walls stood shelves holding all kinds of ingredients for you to choose from. Many kinds veges. Tofu. Seaweed. Vegetarian meat. Bean curd. Many kinds of noodles including instant noodles and egg noodles, perhaps vermicelli (I forgot)

You choose what u want and pay and wait for the cooking. Oh u have to find a seat first because it is so packed and customers come in like water. The place can only seat about 20 people I think, so it is not good for chatting. However, the atmosphere is really great.

The broth of the luwei (滷味) tastes so good, so no wonder the food is so tasty. There are so many kinds of interesting seasonings but I didn't need any of them because it tasted good enough.

I can never forget such an awesome and special dining experience. It is the coolest restaurant I have ever been.

P.S. Takeaway is...

For anyone who is vegan, I’d definitely would recommend this place! Since I have two vegan friends, I’m always down to try new vegan food (plus, I love how healthy it makes me feel!) The restaurant is hidden in an alleyway but not too difficult to find if you’re using Google maps. The place isn’t too small, but be mindful that there are only communal seats meaning everyone shares one long table.

How this place works is that you first choose your ingredients, such as noodles and greens, then you give it to the person who will cook your meal - so it’s kind of like a luwei but more sanitary if you know what I mean. You just need to wait for your meal to be cooked up and then you can choose how you’d like to season your dish. I was very surprised that my meal didn’t cost too much considering specialty restaurants such as vegan places tend to be on the pricer end.

The broth was light but flavourful and you can tell that the ingredients are high quality. It def felt like a very homey meal, which I always appreciate! 10/10 would...

It's a interpretation of the modern noodles stall - good food but with higher prices and an upmarket feel.

You step in, pick up a shopping bag and choose whatever vegetables you like. You also need to decide what kind of noodles you like - ramen, instant noodles, flat noodles etc. There are many selections of fresh vegetables on a vertical stand.

Once you are done with the selections, you go to the counter and pay, then wait for your dish to be cooked. It's a shared table and free seating. The place is small so avoid peak periods.

Unfortunately there is only one soup base. No choices. The soup base goes into all the noodle bowl. Thankfully it's really delicious and not salty at all.

The only real.downside is the price. Every small item you pick up costs about 20NT. To make up a decent bowl of noodles would set you back by around 160NT.

Still it is aively place for vegetarians, especially if you like...

Most of the Vege Creek restaurants I have been to are located in the food court inside malls. This one is a restaurant on its own. The concept is the same. You pick the ingredients you want (type of noodles, veggies, tofu, fake meats, etc). Everything is cooked in a light brown broth. The broth is quite light in flavor, but nice. It’s not too salty. There are condiments you can add to your bowl to add more flavors if you like. They offer mung bean noodles for people who are eating gluten free (remember not to pick fake meats if you are eating gluten free). The mung bean noodles soaks up the flavors of the broth nicely. The servers are very friendly. The food is cooked quickly. The environment is bright and clean. Love this place when I get tired of the usual restaurant food with lots of oil and sodium. Highly recommend.
