Not so much as a "private kitchen", it just felt like making a reservation at a typical Chinese restaurant. Food wasn't bad but not amazing either, especially for the steep price tag.
Now here comes the comical part. The time gap between each dish was rather long, and about 5 minutes after they served the last main course (for a group of 15), a staff actually came in saying "the restaurant is now closed for the lunch break", and we asked "are you asking us to leave?". The awkward silence was rather funny, and not to mention they haven't even served the last desert yet. After that awkward moment, we heard the music changed to "Good night" (a well known old song for kicking customers out upon closing). If they really were in a hurry to close the shop for a break, wouldn't they serve faster to allow customers to have enough time to finish? For this experience along, we won't be coming...
Read moreThe location is in city center and the entrance is rather low key. The atmosphere is intimate and the venue isn't that big so if you want a table reservation is highly advised. You are able to choose from several set menus per pax and then a side order menu but I think the amount of food is enough and that additional food may be too much. The food was impeccable especially the glazed pork with buns; the fatty part was bouncy and not too greasy with a very chewy and juicy lean meat that they say is sourced locally and they only have 1 pig a day.
In the end they serve a beautiful black tea pound cake with Pineapple sauce as a stuffing; loved it and wish I had a nice tea to go with it.
Overall the place is perfect for an intimate meal and the service is attentive as well; they even provide a mobile light device to help you take...

我並非專業食評或美食家,但對於嘗試飲食的包羅萬象或好吃好喝的追尋,我可是樂此不疲。上班途中的蝦仁肉圓、早餐店的嫩雞堡蛋不熟、榕樹下的無名冰店、民生西路上的簡陋的家庭日本料理、台南圓環旁的石斑魚湯和肉燥飯、林口的越南餐廳、新營的黑白切、竹北的piccola、基隆和平島的某海鮮愛店、台東幾個認識的咖啡園、Napa的The Restaurant at Meadowood、勃根地的Maison Lameloise、西班牙南非加州法國的幾家親自拜訪的獨立酒莊跟餐廳等等種種,便宜的中價位的高價位的三顆星星的全部都吃,以上種種,不代表我就一定是吃貨,不表示我高貴奢侈,也無關乎我是不是升斗小民不甘心花錢,而是在於我接下來要評論的種種事實和意見,除了發自內心的基本,更重要的是這無關利益或希望影響別人生意。
1.「匪夷所思的沒有服務」、「可議的餐飲清潔」
一如往常總是會隨便尋覓沒吃過的餐廳,在臉書和地圖隨意看了評分,一時興起燃起期待,去之前我做了電話訂位,準時到店以後,遠方吧台的幾個服務生看見有客人進來,遲疑了一下子才過來帶位(當時店內只有兩桌客人),坐下前我發現椅子上有菜渣跟油漬,我秉著儘可能不麻煩店員的心情,想說自己拿紙巾擦掉就好,剛好此時老婆因光線想換座位突然坐了上去,驚嚇之餘我告訴她我來擦掉就好,服務的小弟弟始終傻站著,我擦乾淨後,老婆想請他用濕布幫忙擦一遍,服務生聞風不動,也曾想過換到對面坐(我們的table是四人桌),結果對面也是一張擦不掉油漬的椅子,無奈如我們選擇對坐在沒有油漬的兩張對坐的座位,整個過程服務生像局外人,彷彿這是我們自己家的餐桌一樣。
2.「沒有任何創意可言的像熱炒菜的大盤“套餐”」、「不要說fine dining或餐酒館了,路邊攤或夜市的甘草人物對自己的料理還比較負責」
有幾個受災戶的網友評論有講到本店完全不私廚的私廚定義,我在此就不多論述,以免口水戰,菜單上$1200-2000的幾個晚間套餐(在台灣這已經是很高的餐飲費了,幾乎是很多優質日料無菜單或法餐套餐的均價),但服務生沒有告知單點的選擇,只推套餐部分,本著嘗試的心情,以及想體驗何謂創意的眷村菜套餐,我們各點了一份,上菜時越發傻眼,因為上菜速度奇快,想必都是些已備好的餐點,再加上既然店家是以套餐價格販售,為何每道菜都是裝在大盤子裡(有圖有真相),然後$1200的餐點前菜竟然是盛好的黑木耳、麥麩、跟類似馬鈴薯絲的東西,接著是一盤白斬雞,牛肚雙拼這樣,然後是一塊臭豆腐,還有油到不行像炸過而且沒調味的河南蒸麵旁邊附著很硬的毛主席三層肉,豬毛沒除乾淨就不提了,接著一大盆豆芽菜麻辣水煮牛肉片,目前為止都很油,而且千篇一律必放香菜。剩下就是一盤鹹腥的蒸魚,一盤波菜炒百頁,加滿黑醋放了香菜跟油豆腐的微波爐湯,硬邦邦的布朗尼,搭兩顆完整的葡萄跟一粒切半的小番茄,菜色我想我就說到這裡。
3.「視客人於無物」、「很刻意的噓寒問暖」
當下因為上菜太快,整個桌子全滿,一直想請店家調整一下上菜節奏,方圓百里沒有服務生可以四目相望,認份地站了起來想直接告訴店家,一站起來發現他們全集中站在吧台處,這是所謂的服務?中間充斥著走來走去的可能是老闆或廚師的先生,路過時問我們點菜了嗎,或是突然跑來問說冷氣會不會太冷,最後再問有沒有吃飽......最傻眼的還是結帳時刻,讓我永生難忘,服務生小弟弟直接把帳單遞給我,附帶完全靜默,一語不發,跟癡癡望著客人的眼神,似乎只有跟客人拿錢或信用卡的能力 (試問?弟弟不能問說今天吃得如何啊、您好這是您的帳單喔、請問吃的習慣嗎、請問要怎麼結帳呢、下次歡迎再來喔),我差點氣到直接走出門,寧願被說我吃霸王餐毒打一頓或關起來。
