Suddenly got a craving for dense chocolate cake. I searched nearby on Google maps and this place looked like it had what I was looking for. I got a chocolate mousse cake. There actually isn't any cake inside, it's filled with thick chocolate mousse of a fudge consistency and chocolate cookie crumble covered in a chocolate syrup. Surprisingly not overly sweet, but also not the typical dark chocolate bitter flavor. They offer English menus. I paired my cake with a cup of traditional oolong tea. Very nice afternoon pick-me-up. This place has a lot of alcoholic chocolate, and fruity chocolate, and some beverages! I only tried two cakes. The Shibusa one was outstanding, the other was good, but not as memorable. Nonetheless, I still want to try all the other cakes here! Plus the hot chocolate! 🤑🤑
The cakes and prices are definitely on the higher side due to location and quality. But to me this is a good price range. 220 for the shibusa and 210 for the other. But to me this was the best chocolate I have had so far.
I recommend making a reservation if you want to sit in.

Read moreHaving tried each one of their chocolates, I can say that they have been successful in bringing out some awesome pairings that you can't find elsewhere. Notable mentions here would be fermented rice, smoked sesame oil, whiskey longan, and caramel soy sauce.
Their enthusiasm really shows up when they try to help you pair a dessert with a beverage and you get to learn a lot from that experience.
