Ding Hao Zi Lin — Restaurant in Da'an District

Very reasonable and competitive price, serves super delicious Northern Cuisine. Most recommended selections from my point of view are stream dumplings, pan fried dumpling, millet, Chinese beef burritos and side dishes.

Another amazing thing impressed me is that the service of reception guiding to your table. A local restaurant like this, Zi Lin shows the respect to customers if you are okay with to sit together with others when table is not fully sit. Not like other restaurant, they will just force you to sit with others without asking. For this service, I am more happier to give highest rating. Not even famous, middle class restaurant similar to Zi Lin could offer such respectful service.

I had a Mutton Noodles Soup ($155) and a can of beverage (taken from the fridge, amazing and sweet barley drink) ($25 / can, $15 / box). The mutton cutlets were quite succulent and the broth tasted great , salty and a bit meaty but extremely hot at the beginning. The noodles had excellent texture because they were greatly rounded and very smooth.

In conclusion, this restaurant is located in the basement of Dinghao Mall and the front door of the mall opens around 10:55. However, it starts to get busier after 11:30 (weekday) due to not only the good taste but also the cheap prices. Overall, it’s a 9.5 out of 10!

It’s a very big disappointment. The food is not as delicious as it seems from the pictures and reviews. Tried the steam dumplings and it’s very very ordinary at best I think like the ones from any other stores selling the same. Took an extra empty bowl from the rack for food sharing but one of the staff wanted it back and said that they don’t provide the big bowls. I have never experienced fighting with a waiter over the use of an empty bowl. Ridiculous. There is something wrong with their service. Overall, this place is not worth the visit.
