ESTETICS: This restaurant is GREAT!! The design feels very Mediterranean and is very nicely lit inside! Very cozy! It's not going to feel like a fancy restaurant BUT it will feel like a piece of the Mediterranean has come to Taipei!
THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE: The staff are professional and very nice! They also speak very fluent English for those who are visiting Taiwan from English speaking countries ;)
THE FOOD: The food is prepared and cooked by a Chef called Pong from the Philippines! He is very familiar with Mediterranean dishes and for somone like me who comes from that part of the world, I can honestly say his Paellas are FANTASTIC! The meat or seafood is barbiecued and the rice has a great crusty like texture on the outside and very nice and smooth on the inside which is saffroned for that delicious Paella signature taste with other vegetables and goodies that make up the Paella! It is NOT oily!
FINAL VERDICT: I can personally say that making Spanish dishes is NOT easy but this restaurant, for the great value for price and the food, it's a "No Brainer" to come and taste this great food and get that Mediterranean vibe!
I will be returning with my wife since we live in Taiwan, hungry for more!!
SMALL TIPS: 1. Please add more bread slices to your baskets or if you are not sure, you can always ask/offer the customer more ;) The usual Mediterranean portion for bread slices is 5.
The hummus needs more of that chickpea taste. It tasted quite bland. Perhaps adding more to the chickpea ratio will bring out more of the real...
Read moreA non-pretentious environment with a lively ambience and loud enough music that allowed us to talk and laugh freely. Disregarding authenticity (not familiar with Spanish food), overall the food lived up to expectations, a little on the heavy side but each dish was unique. Meat platter was a slight disappointment, apart from the skewers the rest was only okay. Stuffed squid with ink sauce was interesting but bland. The seafood and chicken (lots of it!) paellas were flavorful and texture was perfect. Broken fried eggs with fries & chorizo and churros with chilli chocolate dip were my favorites. Considering the location, atmosphere and variety on the menu, the price is pretty fair (note, minimum spend $500pp). Definitely make a booking! Thanks for the great night! Will be back for...
Read moreNot trying to be harsh but the food and service here definitely needs improvement. Came here on a Sunday morning and the service was astoundingly slow. We also heard the table next to us complain about how long they have been waiting for their food. Appetizers were alright but their paella was just bland. There was really nothing special about it. It felt like they cooked the rice in one sauce and threw a few seafoods together on a hot plate. The taste was really uncomplicated (NOT in a good way).
We also had this problem where the staff accidentally swiped 7500NT on our credit card instead of 1500NT. We had to go through a lot of trouble after that day to meet up with them to get our refund. Definitely did not feel like a great...
