Steak Inn — Restaurant in Da'an District

Went there with family for lunch. Ordered a medium rare 'grilled American ribeye' from the lunch set menu. In addition to the main course, the set comes with breads, salad, soup, and a drink. The meal started off well as the breads are warm with texture that's not hard nor soft.

The salad, on the other hand, is mediocre with thousand island like dressing on top of lettuce. It would have been classier if more than one dressing is offered. I also expected better vegetables to be served in a salad.

The puffy pastry on top of the mushroom soup is fluffy, with a hint of butter, and lightly seasoned. It is easily the best part of the meal. The soup is quite creamy but on the salty side.

The steak is not overcooked, which is atypical given my own experience with various restaurants that offer steaks in Taiwan. That said, the steak deserves no more than three stars given the cut lacks marble that is the hallmark of ribeye steaks. Furthermore, the steak clearly has not been aged sufficiently.

Normally I would elevate my rating of a restaurant if the service is extraordinary. Unfortunately, a medium steak was served to me and the medium rare steak was served to one of my family members who ordered the medium steak. When informed of the mistake, neither the waiter, server, nor manager offered an apology.

Despite my reservation, this is still the best steak that I have...

We used to frequent the place from time to time, but the quality fell quite a bit since their move to the new location. The food was fine overall, not massively impressive but decent, but the service was extremely disappointing and shockingly unprofessional.

The waiter seemed annoyed and detached most of the time, served food without saying anything in particular or trying to make the dining experience pleasant. He was quite rude and the professionalism was far below what should be expected of a restaurant at this price level. Food was served between shoulders, we were given an attitude when asking to order, among other experiences, which really damaged the experience for the entire meal. Waiters here used to be very professional, so this is a very disappointing turn of events.

Another waitress was very receptive, however, when we gave feedback, so that is well appreciated. Hopefully we can return to much improved professionalism...

Worst table service ever. Not worth the money.

Service: We had three people only, and every single dish they brought to us was delivered to the wrong person, they simply put the dishes randomly on the table and didn’t even ask a thing. We complained to the manager yet nothing was offered and still had to pay service fee.

Food: We had set menu at around 1900 per person, I have this six ounce steak which was good, but I wasn’t wowed by it. Not worth the value. Soup, salad, dessert were great, juice was tiny and not acceptable.

Environment: Pretty crowded, you don’t feel you can enjoy the meal as the tables are so close you constantly overhear ten tables near you.

I had much better steak experience at 王品 for this price. I do not recommend...
