🥖 油條 Fried Bread Stick = TWD20 🥛 咸豆漿 Salty Soybean Milk = TWD35 🍚 飯糰 Rice Roll = TWD40

No Service Charges

Outside the Entrance is where you can see Staffs busy Rolling and Kneading Fresh Dough. The Staffs are Friendly and Behave Politely although they are Very Busy and Hardly have time to Smile. This is also One of the Few Eateries where there is a Restroom Available.

油條 Fried Bread Stick = TWD20 咸豆漿 Salty Soybean Milk = TWD35 飯糰 Rice Roll = TWD40

Due to Text Limit Constraints, I won't go into details describing every Ingredient here. If you are interested to know more, come visit my Facebook Food Blog: "A Solo Singaporean's Guide to JB Foods (And More!)" to view the Full Review with Photos.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of TWD20 (S$0.85) for a Large 油條 Dough Fritter, this was Absolutely Worth the Money. It may be the Crispiest, Most Airy Version I've ever eaten. OMG so Good! I could polish off 5 of these easily and I'm not even kidding. They are an Absolute Must-Try if you're here!

At the Price of TWD35 (S$1.50) for the 咸豆漿 Salty Soybean Milk, the Appearance may look Un-Appealing but this was still a Very Affordable Price to enjoy such a Unique and Complex Dish. Don't Order this expecting this to taste like a Typical 豆漿 Soybean Milk. Really, this tastes more like a Bowl of Japanese Styled Chawanmushi. Unique and Delicious, they pair perfectly with the Lovely 油條 Dough Fritter.

At the Price of TWD40 (S$1.70) for the 飯糰 Rice Roll is an Affordable Price for what it is, but I feel is not really as worth the money because its basically re-using the Same Ingredients but charging at a Slightly Higher Price. Having said that, this is a Unique Taiwanese Dish that we don't see often in Singapore and Malaysia. Eating this is like eating a Thick Stick of Lor Mai Kai. This is Very Filling.

Eateries like this are Common in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and are Very Popular 早餐店 for many Local Taiwanese. I personally liked this place very much and the Prices are Affordable. Foods are Tasty, and the Staffs are Polite and Friendly although they hardly smile much. This is not because they're Purposely Rude but they are Really Very Busy. 🤔

If you are looking for an Authentic Taiwanese Breakfast and are near the Area, I can recommend this place to give it a try. Don't Miss Out on their Insanely Crispy and Airy 油條 Dough Fritter!

Taipei is a whirlwind of sights, smells, and tastes, but there's something calming about starting your day at Yong He Soy Milk King. It's not fancy by any means. Think bright lights, plastic tables, and a constant hum of conversation. But that's part of the charm. You squeeze in with the locals, menus with pictures a lifesaver for navigating the unfamiliar dishes.

My go-to? Sweet soy milk and a fried dough stick. The soy milk is unlike any I've had before - warm, almost creamy, with a subtle sweetness that lingers. The dough stick is a revelation - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and begging to be dunked in the soy milk. It's simple, but it's a perfect little breakfast symphony.

Don't expect a leisurely brunch here. It's fast-paced, efficient, and all about fueling you up for a day of exploring. But that's exactly what I love about it. It's a taste of Taipei's energy, a quick and delicious pitstop before diving into the chaos of the city. You leave feeling satisfied and ready to conquer whatever Taipei...

Tourist here. It's been about 10 years since I had been back. Yelp was just gaining steam and you had to rely on locals for recommendations. Well I can say that 10yrs later the food was just as good as I remembered it and happy to see they're busier than ever. Still on the corner with a dingy eating area and not enough seating. But honestly who cares. The food is the main attraction here and as someone who won't wait 10 minutes for almost any restaurant, I'd buy the food to go and pop a squat on the side walk. My go breakfast here is the you tiao (long fried dough sometimes called a Chinese donut), hot dou jiang with sugar (soy bean milk) and suan cai fan tuan (a rice roll). Gotta dip the you tiao into the soy milk tho! There's a section for To Go orders and a section for dine in. If you're there on a week day morning and see a long line chances are it's the to go line. Walk inside and check the other line and eat while you watch people grab breakfast for their commutes. A must visit for me when...

For me, a trip to Taipei isn’t complete without having my Taiwanese breakfast at this Yong He (永和豆漿大王) location no less than one or two times. Their sticky rice roll is my ultimate first choice; the thin layer of glutinous rice is filled with the right balance of crispy fried dough, pickled vegetables and umami pork floss. In the summer time, I usually pair my rice roll with a glass of ice soy milk, however, in winter time, I will occasionally opt-for a bowl of savory soya milk sizzled with soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, pork floss and fried dough. It has this incredible layer of flavorful textures that will satisfy your craving and warm your heart! Like many of my favorite restaurants in Taipei, this too is becoming insanely popular these days therefore I usually visit during non-peak hours. They offer both outdoor and indoor (with air-condition) seatings. There are two queues for purchases; one for take-out another one for dine-in. All the staffs are extremely efficient and polite.

They do have an English menu (the translated menu in the red-colored menu) that’s shown in other photos. Ordering for dine-in is like pictured by others: (1) find a seat (inside or outside), (2) score the menu with desired items, (3) bring menu inside to the ordering window and food will placed on the tray, (4) pay for your items. The food is alright. I do not recommend the rice roll (fan tuan) here since the rice is a little undercooked. The sweet soy milk, despite saying sweet, isn’t overly sweet and very enjoyable. Overall, I would say this place is slightly overhyped but if you haven’t been to the other popular Taiwanese breakfast spots like Fu Hang Soy Milk, then this is a decent alternative. Otherwise if you’re all Taiwanese-breakfast-out, then you’re not missing anything skipping this spot. Once you’re done eating, bring your bowls and tray inside to dispose of food and place back the bowl/tray.
