Solo Pizza Napoletana — Restaurant in Datong District

If I were to rate this restaurant on food alone it would easily earn one if not two more stars. Their pizza is fantastic, some of the best in Taipei, and other side accouterments are authentic and equally mouth watering.

My one sticking point with Solo Pizza is their seemingly lazy disregard for their environmental impact as evident in the use of paper plates, bowls, and plastic cutlery for ALL orders, take out or eating in the restaurant. Eating such fine food from disposable dish ware not only takes away from the experience but, especially with in restaurant meals, creates a completely unnecessary pile up of waste.

I really hope management will consider switching to plates and cutlery more appropriate for such fine food and less impactful on the...

Stop! I usually don't like pizza in style napoletano, it's soft, too chewy and the quick baking sometimes is not enough to kill the fungus of the yeast, so you cannot sleep at night. But things are different here: the pizza is soft but the texture is rich in flavors and extremely balanced, the topping are fresh and with some interesting match, it's not pricey so you feel relaxed in a cozy environment. There is no service charge and therefore no service at the table , which gives to the place a feeling of real trattoria italiana, different from the numerous restaurants in Taipei that, under the name trattoria, hide fancy and pricy diners with so so good. So Pasquale totally deserves 5 star!...

It's an ok place, pizza are decent and the place, being small, still sit tight.

only issue i found so far is the lack of real knife and fork, trying to eat a pizza with a fork that bend right away on a cardboard plate was not so great.

the place is also self clean, just like mcdonald, you dispose of your trash on your way out.

pizza are made in a real pizza oven with live fire, the service is rather fast. but they only accept cash, so we had to walk to the nearest mart to withdraw, which luckily is not far.

verdict: great pizza but still hungry when leaving. price is moderate, and plasric ustensils is not great at all.
