If you're in Taiwan and looking for some real-deal Western food, you gotta check out Wildbites in Kenting , actually in Hengchuan the main town. Place is still getting set up, but it's already got a cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home.
The folks there, Cindy and Yuki, both speak fluent english, are super nice and make sure you're taken care of. Makes a big difference!
For the food. I had this salami and cheese, salad sandwich on sourdough bread, and man, it was something else. The Salami is really great, the cheese is not the similar stuff you see in every joint. It's tough to find a good sandwich around Taiwan, but this one hit the spot. They really know what they're doing with the bread – it's fresh and just right.I have to mention this is a brunch palce so they close quite early at 14:00pm.
The menu's got a bunch of good stuff to pick from, and it's all at decent prices. They even threw in a free orange juice and some carrot sticks and other veggie looking things while I was waiting, which was pretty cool.
The place is clean too, even though they're just starting out. And yeah, I'd come back for sure. It's nice to find a spot that feels a bit like back home, especially when you're talking about food.
For anyone who's missing a taste of Western sandwiches, with Sourdough bread! Wildbites is the place. It's all handmade and local, not like those big chains. Can't wait to go back and see what else they've...
Read moreI tried the smoked salmon sandwich on sourdough and a cappuccino. It's a bit more expensive than other places, or maybe not? it came with complimentary juice and some starter veggies. but the quality is sooo good. The café has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are exceptionally friendly, fluent in English (Foreigner owned). I'm told the sourdough bread is homemade, really cool, it was the perfect base for the delicious smoked salmon, capers and the cappuccino was nice. The place is clean, the funiture is a bit old and unmatched, but pretty compfortable. I'm told it is still getting setup decoration wise. Small complaint we had to wait a while to get a seat due to the amount of ppl, so next time il come earlier. Wildbites is a top choice for superb sandwiches,...
Read moreSuper cute brunch cafe in Hengchun, with a peaceful and artistic atmosphere.
I ordered the brunch platter which was filled with everything I could want for a morning hungry belly! Farm fresh eggs, fresh greens and home made bread made this brunch a great value for the price.
My husband got the recommended roast beef toast that was very tasty with perfectly melted cheese and well seasoned roast.
The cafe is run by 2 girl bosses that gave us great advice for our trip including finding the right beaches, music events that were happening (that maybe only locals would know about) and brought my dog an egg treat and some water.
Overall a warm and welcoming experience, we love that its dog friendly and small details in the decor added to what gave Wild...
