I dined at this restaurant a few nights ago, primarily because it's one of the few places in Hualien that offers halal food for Muslims. Overall, it was an okay experience. I had initially planned to order more dishes, but the owner made the decision for us, suggesting that we stick to just two dishes, expressing concerns that ordering more might be too much for my friend and me.
I found the butter chicken and fish curry to be somewhat lacking in flavor. It's possible that this is a matter of personal preference, as the restaurant appears to cater to local taste buds.
Regarding the service, I observed, as a previous customer mentioned in their review, that the owner seemed more inclined to dictate what we should order rather than offering suggestions. It was a bit confusing to determine whether this approach was an attempt to be friendly or came across as condescending. Additionally, I had an unusual encounter when the owner commented on my appearance, stating that I looked 'Chinese' but didn't speak Mandarin. This struck me as inappropriate, particularly considering that he, as a South Asian, was fluent in Mandarin. These remarks were something I...
Read moreI recently dined in Hualien at Madina restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! The authentic Punjabi flavors took me straight to the heart of India. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, and Kadhai Paneer was slow-cooked to perfection and having it with Garlic Naan which very was very soft and buttery provided a taste like home-cooked food. The staff is very co-operative and nice, go to great lengths to fullfill the demand of patrons. Also adjust the spicy level according to customer. I honestly recommend this place to taste the traditional Indian especially Punjabi food.
The service was warm and welcoming, with staff who genuinely cared about our dining experience. The ambiance was vibrant, with a mix of traditional and modern decor that made the meal even more enjoyable.
Portions were generous, and everything was reasonably priced. Don’t miss their Mango Lassi—it’s the perfect balance of sweet and tangy!
Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Punjabi cuisine. Can’t...
Read moreWORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE IN TAIWAN! My recent experience at this restaurant in Taiwan was terrible. We've been loyal customers for years, but the owner's behavior was shocking.
We didn't know about their rule of one curry per person, and when we ordered one curry for two with two naans, the owner rudely informed us of the rule. We offered to order another curry or pay extra, but he refused and took our menu.
To make it worse, he brought a single plate for two people and insisted we share it. After some discussion, another owner abruptly cleared our table and told us to leave. He took the food from our table and said, “you can go, you don’t have to eat here.” We were willing to pay for our meal but were treated as if we wanted a freebie.
As an Indian, I can tell you the food doesn't taste even close to real Indian cuisine. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was awful, and our experience was incredibly...
