Food is on par for what you would expect from any hole in the wall breakfast place. Egg pancake was okay, turnip cake was lacking turnip flavor. Think it was mostly powder and tiny bit of turnip. Easily have had better.
I know that Taiwan has a lot of old establishments. Especially those run by the older generations and these places do not look all clean and new. But this place takes the cake for dirty. Literal build up of dust and what not on walls.
Service... is... shady? Not sure that is adequate for describing my experience. While my chinese is terrible, my wife's is perfect. But they heard my English and broken Chinese and they decided to cheat us. First, we tried to get cold soy, they told us that they were out. Normal soy is out too. What do they have? The more expensive drinks. They then sold cold soy to the next local that came in. We ordered the soup bun (FYI, no soup inside) which come two to one order. They gave us one and said we had to wait for more to be made. Once made, they served it to the locals and we had to go ask for our second bun. They told us they forgot. It was just us and the locals. Two tables. No rush of customers to make them forget.
I would honestly avoid this place. If you have to go, then count your finger and toes...

They offer vegetarian buns, so not all options are meat-based. Their egg pancake has a soft texture, and the soy milk is comparable to other breakfast spots. I ordered 燒餅+油條+蔥蛋. The 燒餅 was soft, and the 油條 had a slight crunch to it. While I felt the food lacked density, it was expected for the price. As a vegetarian, I did not try the meat-based soup buns, but other patrons I spoke with highly recommended them.
If you choose to dine in, there is seating available on both the ground floor and the...
Read moreTraditional breakfast. Try the "tangbao", which translates to soup dumplings. The pancake is alright, as is the French toast that features, in a very local rather than French manner, pork floss. Three usual selection of drinks, i.e. soy milk, tea, as well as coffee milk. Pricing is standard, so very low. One thing to note, ordering food may be a bit confusing at first, as the two to three ladies standing at the counter are all in charge of different things, with only the last one being...
