It's getting close to the LNY.
My son and I wandered in those endless, lybirinth-like alleys and lanes in the Shihlin area, just like a pair of desperate strangers. Eventually we found this petit coffee shop. My hunch told me we should give a try.
My hunch was right.
Oolong tea milk and Earl Grrey putting for my son. And one cup of pour-over Colombia for me. Together, they made my day:
That distinct bitterness accompanying the aroma of medium-baked oolong reached near-perfect balance, with which the tenderly sweet aftertaste of the Earl Grey pudding formed a symphony over the tongue.
However the real treat for me was the pour-over Columbia, which carried an intriguing Chinese name, "豔夏花荔 (Floral Lychee from a Glamorous Summer Day)."
The pour-over carried a distinctive acidity (or brightness if you will), which was a distinctive feature of light+ roasted beans. This coffee had gone through double anaerobic processes, which likely gave it those intriguing aromatic traits of rosebuds and lychee, oolong, and later a strawberry-like finish.

The Americano was priced at 120NTD or roughly 4USD. If we use Starbucks as a benchmark for price and quality this is slightly cheaper and about 100times better than Starbucks coffee.
The house blend uses light roasted beans from Columbia and Guatemala. If you don’t appreciate acidic sourness of light roasted coffee, you can choose a medium roast instead.
The pour over coffee was very good and you will have a few varieties to choose from.
The cinnamon bun was also good. I had the lemon cream cheese option. I have also tried the pistachio basque cheesecake which was amazing.

Read moreToday was typhoon day.We still went out to the coffee shop. And it was open! It was so good to have a hot latte with a cinnamon bun. The latte was really thick and creamy. They offered two different beans which were light and medium roasted. The hot latte was nice with the light roasted beans. On the contrary, the cold latte is great with the medium roasted. And the bun was okay. It was original flavour. But not bad. I like the space which especially is because they didn’t put that many seats. So made the space feel more comfy. And some decent seats are outside. And some green leaves surrounding them....
