I should've given a one star, but the flavor does remind me what we used to have just not as strong.
Got attracted by those big pots out there and the fragrance. It was a long line when we started but they have quite a system to move along all the customers. One line is for takeout, the other is for sit in. Taking less than 15mins for us to get in. Due to limited seating, they will combine different group of customer together, then guide you to the seat.
Less than a dozen items on the menu, most rely on the same soup base. Seating area has wrapped bamboo chopsticks, plastic spoon, napkins. I did wipe the table a bit by myself.
They gave advice to get the rib one which is NT$10 more before you order like if you don't know how to get meat off the bone. Sounds logical, and care.
Anyway, don't rely on Chinese translate and assume what are you getting on their famous ten spices medicine stock. Such as 排骨 at NT$90 is actually made from neck bone. 肋排 @NT$100 is ribs. Both barely has any meat left on the bones. On top of that , taste like made out of frozen neck bone. Soup is lightly sweet, quite favorable but bone was hard to deal with,no meat, chewy stuff , sharp tiny bones. And ribs was a joke. This is a stock not "rib soup" . You might get more meat on drum stick. But rib was their house brand. A total shame.
I had doubt when I saw fresh pot of pork bone took out from the back in pale color, but I got direct to seating area and didnot see if they added into the soup. Now makes me wonder if they cook it seperately and mix together.
There are also 雞腿(drumstick) soup @nt$100 ,羊肉(lamb)noodle soup at NT$150.
Overall, this is enough for me ,consider a nice touch for a cold rainy day, if you never had it before. And price? I'll suggest to sell it as cup of tea instead. It is...
Read moreTo be fair to the stall, the food is amazingly delicious especially for a person like me who loves herbal foods. Unfortunately, none of the waitress aunties especially one with very short hair and wears a few bracelet is extremely rude when you ask for thier recommends of their foods.
Being a tourist unfamiliar with how they run their business, i asked for a menu and the auntie told me "the menu is written on the wall so look for yourself don't ask me".
Having feeling not welcomed, I settled down and ordered two dishes, the auntie stood still right infront of me and gave me cornered-eye death stare at me, it was awkward hahaha.
Done with the food and enjoyed, i waved and asked for the bill and so one of the auntie directly me to the cooking area to make the bill and told me again "go tell that person over there what you ate and pay", so I did, again, i dont know why but the other person who's supposedly to settle bills asked me rudely and angrily again "what? You finished eaten or ordering? Can you be clear?!" then she proceeded talking to the customer queuing behind me instead.
Being the 2nd time visiting taiwan, or maybe to almost anyone else, Taiwan's customer service is well known for their extremely friendly gesture but not for this stall. And again I should be fair to them, their food is nice but what is nice anymore when served with such...
