intolerably rude and inconsiderate receptionist, yet excellent food and friendly chefs (all three are incredibly consistent, for good or bad). Someone needs to teach the receptionist some manners, she's not fit for the job.
This place definitely belongs to the better sushi bars in town, for its food, and chefs. I am very confident of the quality of food of this place, to the extend even though I spent many years abroad, whenever foreign friends visit Taipei while I was not in town, I always recommend them to this place (albeit in the end of the day it's their decision to make for going or not), that is how I like this place. I really like this place, and hoping this comment would serve more good than bad.
read the other reviews you will find not only the food is great, but the price is also very competitive. so I will just cut it here.
My wife and I usually both WFH on Fridays and we spent many Friday lunch in this place. But there's a thing, the receptionist is extremely rude, and this has been the case for very long time. Just earlier today, my wife and I arrived the sushi bar before 11:30, a whole 30 minutes before rush hour and the place was largely empty, the receptionist wanted us to sit by the bar while we asked to have a table. The receptionist rejected us outright without providing any reason, was it because she thought the rush hour was coming and we couldn't finish our meal by then? was it because it requires us to order more food to compensate the shop, WE ARE ALL EARS, OK? Instead of giving explanation or comfort, she choose to repeat "pardon me, pardon me pardon me" like a broken record without proper eye contact, just like a voodooed doll. MAGIC WORDS Fast forward, when we were about to finish our lunch, the same receptionist came and ask us to leave comments on google (inherently for good comment, I assume) in exchange for two serves of "red-bean panna cotta", we knew we were going to leave poor comments so we did not take the offer. In the end when we were paying the bill(right before sharp noon), I mentioned to her "the tables are still empty, why didn't you let us have it?" Guess what? the broken record voodooed doll is back! " pardon me pardon me pardon me" SURPRISE...
Read moreThis Japanese restaurant truly focuses on quality. With affordable prices and a wide selection of dishes, it’s no surprise there’s often a line to get in. Luckily, I was traveling solo and easily found a seat at the counter.
The staff, mostly older women who feel like caring moms, add a warm, homey touch to the experience. They offer tea refills and casually check in, creating a personal connection. It’s clear there are many returning customers, as the staff often catch up with them like old friends.
I stopped by for a quick lunch and wasn’t too hungry, but the food was simple, fresh, and satisfying. I’d love to come back and try more dishes next time—definitely a place...
Read moreVery friendly owner, but staff is okay. Ordered the classic sashimi donburi the sashimi was very fresh. The free soup that comes with the set, was filled with fish and good miso!
Also ordered the lobster salad roll, however it was not for my taste. Friend ordered the baked fish, was okay too. Also had the salmon sashimi and it was very good and fresh!
Would come here again for the cheap sashimi and miso, whenever I am in...
