absolutely enjoyed this place and their fresh quality.
delicious donburi with an astounding 12 variety of seafood. the karaage (japanese fried chicken) was juicy with a nice kick of spicy. the only complain i have about the food was my shrimp miso soup being too salty.
even though we walked in 30 minutes before closing, the staff was polite with fast service. you can eat for relatively inexpensive at $350-500 if you just order the basic donburi. if you want the better combo + soup + appetizer, it'll be $750-1000 per person. and it's definitely possible to spend more than that if you decide to order the most premium dish there while adding drinks and all.
i would recommend this if you're in the area!
EDIT January 2025: same feeling as before. this used to be really popular where reservations are needed, but it's pretty dead now. we were the only one there....
Read moreI'm no sushi expert but I think I know enough about food and raw fish, having eaten sushi across the west coast of North America, Japan and Taiwan.
The fish were fresh, sweet and always at the right temperature. Quality is consistent and worth the price. This is the only place I would go for nigiri in Taipei.
Side note: this sushi bar is all about nigiri's, selection of maki rolls are limited and there are no other creative seafood/Japanese dishes on the menu. If you're not a nigiri person, they have other chain stores offering Japanese food and chirashi bowls.
If you like or are used to having wasabi in your nigiri, tell them in advance. They leave the wasabi out by default, probably catering for the demographic here that has a habit of mixing wasabi with soy sauce.

Read moreCame here on a monday afternoon, i rated 2 stars for the following three reasons, one for each losing star: We didnt have to wait, but we needed to stand at the front entrance to decide what to order and pay upfront like we were ordering a takeout. looks like he owner wanted to save a salary on an extra waiter. the place was nice and clean, but the waiters were not so helpful, we made an extra order and still pay upfront, the food is good but not amazing as many other has described. the extra order was two spot prawn, price was 462ntd, but the actual product was about 15cm long and was a bit smaller than i expected.
i wouldnt say no to this place, but i d definitely not come again.
p.s. by the way, the beer and the...
