Super bad service, I do not recommend this at all. The food is just so so, you can definitely find a better one at somewhere else. The staffs are rude and impatient, whoever come to order food will surely get scolded as they do not have clear signage or instruction on how to order the food.
A kid order a take away asked to pack the chilli sauce separately, got scolded, "who will mix chilli with food? some people prefer spicy some people not, of course I will not put chilli in the food!!"
A guy told the staffs what he wanted to order, after saying, no response from the staffs. The guy left standing there not sure whether they hear it or not, and he repeated his order again. Got scolded, "Just say it once, do not say so many times and later we got confused!! after ordering sit down immediately!! now go and sit down immediately!!!! you just sit down, I will know where you sit and bring the food to you later!!!!"
A staff brought soup base in big pots to the stall with trolley. While they are moving the pots to the stall, the trolley was left on the walkway. This night market is quite crowded especially at night, and it is assumed that the walkway is a one-way path. Some random passerby walked past in opposite direction of what it is assumed to be, got scolded also "this is supposed to be one-way, the way you walk will block other's way!!"
From what I observed, 99.9% you will get scolded if you want to buy food from this stall. Please avoid this stall if you do not wish to get scolded...
Read moreAmidst the vibrant chaos of Raohe Street Market, Chen Tung Pork Ribs Medicinal Herbs Soup offers a comforting respite. Their Bak Kut Teh, or herbal pork rib soup, presented a dark, aromatic broth. The herbal notes were prominent, hinting at a complex infusion. The pork ribs, however, lacked the fall-off-the-bone tenderness I anticipated. While flavorful from the broth, the meat required more effort than desired. The broth itself, while carrying the distinct herbal profile, could have benefited from a more pronounced pork richness to achieve better balance. It was a warming and traditional offering, providing a taste of local flavor. However, the execution needed a finer touch to truly elevate it beyond a simple market staple. It satisfied a craving for something comforting but didn't reach its...

Disclaimer: i had my meal here on a cold, rainy winter's evening.
The herbal soup was really comfortable to ingest. The herbal taste was not overwhelming such that it masked the aroma of the mutton.
The meat tore off the bone quite easily. The amount of ginger that was put in was quite a lot, such that the meat has lost it's gamieness, but the quality of the soup is not affected. So if you hate ginger, you might need more time to pick them out.
The braised pork rice contains pickles, which tastes slightly different (refreshing) from the rest that I've tasted so far. But they are not generous with the minced pork and gravy.
My only other gribe is that the portions are not...
