Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. The taxi driver told us it was a risky decision without a reservation, but thankfully we arrived quite late—after typical dinner hours—and they were able to seat us. I have to say, this is by far one of the better Taiwanese steakhouses I’ve been to. It’s a more high-end version of the typical Taiwanese hot plate teppan-style steak place.
We ordered a huge variety for just the two of us. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the soup is free-flow, along with a variety of condiments and an array of drinks to choose from. You can even choose the type of hot bread rolls you want: Soft or Crispy, paired with truffle butter!
The condiments were quite interesting—there were preserved vegetables and croutons that you could pair with the soup or the meat. I felt this added a distinctly Taiwanese touch to the meal, giving the steak a lot of flavour and cultural context. 🥰
We ordered a 🥩 premium cut of steak, which came on a non-heated plate with udon on the side. The beef steak was incredibly tender. When it was served, the server asked us to check if the doneness was to our liking; if not, they would send it back to the kitchen. I found this to be a professional touch, ensuring the steak is enjoyed at your preferred level of doneness. That said, while it was a well-cooked, fatty cut of beef, I did miss the char that typically comes from a hot plate. If you're here mainly for the steak, it’s a great option for enjoying high-quality meat, even if it’s not seared the traditional way.
I also ordered the pork chop steak with noodles (which were included at no extra charge). I really enjoyed this dish. The pork chop was tender, not tough at all, and packed with flavour. I opted to mix all three of their sauces, and pouring that over the noodles and pork chop brought everything together beautifully. Every bite was bursting with flavor—from aromatic onions to pepper and the sweetness of the pork. The char from the hot plate added even more depth. This was a standout dish for me.
🥦 Despite being full, I made the mistake (or maybe not!) of ordering the baked gratin broccoli with potatoes. It came in a gratin-style dish and was great for sharing—probably enough for three if you’ve ordered other mains. The cheese was gooey, and the cream tied it all together. I was surprised to find pineapple chunks inside, which helped cut through the richness, and there were bacon bits on top for extra crunch and aroma.
While the meal did burn a bit of a hole in my wallet—it’s definitely more expensive than your regular night market fare—I heard this place actually started from humble beginnings as a night market stall before growing into a full-fledged restaurant.
It’s definitely a place you’d want to bring a close friend or celebrate a special occasion. The free-flow sides also made me really full and gave it a buffet-style charm.
Total damage: about 1900 NTD for 2 pax—but we did order...
Read moreDidn't even get in this place since I was upset by the rude staff working on the reception. We have kind of big group, 9 people in the group, and we were excited to try out this place. I realized all the tables are 4pp table and doesn't look like they can move the table around. When we went to ask the receptionist if they have seats for 9 pp, he mentioned he will give us 3 tables, then I asked if the 3 tables will be together, he rolled his eyes and said "of course not". I understood they can't put the table together for us but I was trying to ask if the 3 tables are going to be near by each other by any chance. I felt the staff was rude and didn't even try to understand my concern at all. So we decided to go for somewhere else. The place looks really nice but I think the staff need better training. I don't know if I will give this place another chance but it's a pretty...
Read moreSteakhouse - It is difficult to beat this restaurant in terms of value. Decent meats, large meal set at a very reasonable price in a well maintained environment.
They primarily offer complete meal sets at this location. Along with the meal of choice, the set consists of a bread, soup, a drink, an egg and a side vegetable dish. The meats are average in terms of quality, quantity and flavor, and served on a hot plate along with noodles and a sauce of choice. The chicken is definitely recommended, while the beef and pork cuts are acceptable.
The place is often crowded, so a call ahead is a must. The service speed is quite decent even when crowded. Overall, you can't do much better in the city at...
