Went to celebrate a friend’a 28th birthday. It was a rainy day. Before going, I read up on the internet and found out that there are only so many seats and it might take up to 30-60 minutes for a cup of freshly made matcha if it were crowded. Not wanting to wait that long for a birthday matcha treat, I went ahead and arrived half an hour earlier so I could ensure us a table. I explained that we wanted a matcha set (for the birthday girl) and a non-caffeinated something for me. When they brought the matcha and dessert over, they so thoughtfully dimmed the lights and presented a lit candle on the matcha cake. It was a small gesture but it stroke home for us. I rarely review but I have to this time! This is a charming little place run by 2 people and they are really nice! I spent some time chatting with them during a hot summer day and time passed so smoothly I almost didn't notice it. I had an ice matcha and it was enough to soothe the heat, there was also a place to charge your phone and if you don't have a wire they will provide you. You can chill at their tatami spot which gives off an old Japanese home vibes or the bar and watch them make you drinks and snacks.
