懷舊小棧杏仁豆腐冰 — Restaurant in Tainan

almond tofu, milk tofu dessert, and matcha tofu dessert over ice are amazingly delicious. have tried five somewhat different combinations now and the sesame sauce and condensed milk combination is the clear winner, by a mile.

sesame sauce milk tofu dessert on ice with condensed milk plus taro as an additional topping (TWD 60): the rich sesame flavor goes superbly well with either the milk tofu or the almond tofu, with milk tofu having a slight edge as it is slightly more creamy and smooth. 5.5/5

pineapple almond tofu on ice with condensed milk (TWD 55): cannot recommend pineapple as the flavor and texture combination was a cacophony. almond tofu was rich and creamy. 3.5/5

sesame sauce matcha tofu on ice with condensed milk plus red bean as an additional topping (TWD 60): same as the milk tofu version with the addition of matcha flavor. 5.5/5

sesame sauce milk tofu dessert on ice (TWD 50): same as above but the lack of condensed milk really takes away from the dessert. 4/5

sesame sauce almond tofu dessert on ice with condensed milk (TWD 55): takeaway took away from the dish somewhat. 4.5/5

must visit every time we are in Tainan. sadly, Tainan is over 4 hours away...

20230603 update: quite annoyed at atrocious lack of client consideration... closed up dine in at 2126h when they close at 2200h. product is great, service is...

2nd place for the night, one of the best and again a classis dessert place 懷舊小棧 Mainly in English they are called the shaved ice pudding, but they do have many flavours, Orders of the day were Shaved ice, almond pudding plus green beans, no added preservatives, they added condensed milk for sugar which is awesome Pineapple based pudding, with no ice, because we wanted to try one with ice and one without ice, both were very different with each other... Would recommend them as the classic of all times Tainan do has many shaved ice places, but this is the best so far 👌 They are still open only for take away due to pandemic, the name speaks for its quality and quantity

A nice place to savor an almond tofu or macha one. A famous Tainan’s speciality. The place is clean and bright. If we are totally satisfied by the product, it’s not the case for the service, that’s why I put only 3 stars. After eating inside we decided to make a takeaway order, when we fetched it, we must ask several times to a waitress to give our order : She watched us without never moving waiting her colleagues doing the job…...
