This is an art museum very much in time with its community. Tainan is a smallish town, less urban and so in many ways more interesting than the soaking metropoles. The curators do as much as they can to bring Artist works to life by including biographical narratives and plain language explanations of the works or their subsets. So even if you lack the vocabulary of the art world, it becomes easy to connect with the artist and their works. I came for an exhibition, but the building itself is a special attraction! It was a police station and has been somewhat renovated and turned into an art museum. I love the style of the building and enjoy bathing in the weaving web of summer sunlights and shadow. If you’re looking for something of the Renaissance, I would suggest you to go to Europe.
