One of the loveliest coffeeshops in Tainan if not Taiwan. The space itself is tucked in an alley, being very quiet and humble looking outside; it has a unique layout of the coffee & ordering counter being on the second floor, so upon entering from the first floor you must walk through all their gorgeously atmospheric, wooden and vintage decor filled rooms and up their stairs and wind around to find the staff. Everything from the charmingly mismatched chairs to the lamps and gorgeous coffee and dish ceramic choices are filled with thoughtful ambience. The natural soft lighting from the huge windows and alley outside make the space perfect for beautiful photos; and the backdrops and well used books (filled with old notes and scribbles from the owners) are neatly tucked on some of the aged wooden tables. The exposed brick walls juxtaposed with smooth simple white walls is also so lovely and neutral toned. And the quality! The service is multi-lingual, their knowledge of coffee impressive, and their prices and products fantastic! Their lemon Sicily is a perfect blend of sweetness, lime aroma and coffee almost like a fragrant citrus iced tea. Their pour over today was excellent too (Natural Ethiopian) in a gorgeous and unique cup and plate combo. The caramel apple cheesecake is dense, cold and creamy layered with caramel sauce and crispy crumble and fresh sliced apples- a superb dessert on its on not even mentioning a very agreeable price! Additionally they have no strict menu order requirements (e.g. everyone needs a drink, or a food order amounting to XXX nt)- only one order per person which is practical and totally agreeable unlike many Taipei cafes which force drink orders! Great way to share some desserts and drinks. A must visit now every time I return...
Read moreCute old building tucked in an alleyway. Was fun exploring ... Lots of old tables and chairs in a nice comfy sitting area downstairs, need to order food upstairs (was confused about where to order when we went in at first!) Nice lovely platter of rice and fruit salad. Menu was bilingual. Curry portions were on the small side, but was enough for a light lunch. The lemon coffee was delicious, great find by a busy...
