IG: foodie_foxx A hidden gem in Tainan city. Literally a treasure that’s that I found out for pleasure and pore delicacy. A cafe a working place and also a well known Aussie style cafe which inside a small alley of Changrong road. Starting of with ambience, it’s purely green and one can feel the essence of freshness when u enter into the cafe 🍵. They have options like all day breakfast, some awesome breads and sandwich which wants you to order more and more Me and my Gf wanted to sit there and work for a while, but we ended up eating a lot hehe 😜 The staff are super nice, main thing is they can speak English, Their menu is in English and also prices are reasonable. Even though I am not a coffee person I still enjoyed their blueberry smoothie. Their hand made fresh cookies and homemade fruit scone where the best combo for a small snack with ur coffee or drink. Then we ordered the baguette with smoked salmon wt avocado, really fresh and delicious (I feel their salmon should be smoked a little more). Next was with the sourdough- chilli eggs avocado with beetroot and extra bacon was a delight to my taste buds. Surprisingly they roast their own coffee seeds make their food fresh and also serve in a well decent paced manner. I regret that I only found out this place after 4 years of Tainan like, they have been around for almost a decade. The owner is Taiwanese, but yet tried a new concept cafe in Tainan. There are lot of regular customers here who come and sit to work. Next time would surely try their cakes and waffles 🧇 and would be a regular customer there. Bon appetite...
Read moreIt had come to my attention that there is an Australian-style cafe in the heart of Tainan City. As an Australian, I couldn't wait to try because their Instagram page looked ultra-professional, and it seemed the products would be excellent.
The interior, although small and cramped, had an industrial vibe without any warm colours and a laid-back feel.
They provide clean bathrooms and a change table for babies, which we appreciate.
Even though the food menu was Australian-style, I feel that they didn't hit the mark when it came to the execution of the product. It took quite a while to arrive and the avocado lacked some seasoning and a hint of citrus, which is important for smashed avocado. My wife’s smoked salmon dish was the same.
We ordered a single-origin latte and a single-origin latte and were quite disappointed with the coffee. The flat white had more foam than my latte and the latte was weak and milky. At the price that is charged, I expect better.
Finally, to finish the Earl Gray tea pound cake arrived despite my wife requesting it come from the display counter immediately while we waited. It lacked sweetness and it was dry and crumbly.
Overall, I wish they could put as much effort into their food and coffee as they do with their...
Read moreLittle treasure in the alley. The prices are about the same as Starbucks, but the food and coffee are nicer. Everything I've had tastes fresh. The banana bread was just like my brother makes back home, and they warmed it up and everything. Also, twice I've been here and it's been pretty quiet. Definitely prefer this kind of environment. The acai bowl was great and could count as a full meal. Only disappointment was that I couldn't get a smoothie made with something other than cow's milk--maybe it was just a misunderstanding? Anyway, am glad I...
