PEKO PEKO （1/14-1/21店休） — Restaurant in Tainan

The food here is excellent, but the service left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we were immediately told there were no available tables — before we even had a chance to speak — despite actually having a reservation.

We ordered two meals and two iced teas. While the meals eventually arrived, the teas never did. We had to follow up six times, and instead of receiving a sincere apology or a clear explanation, we were given a series of inconsistent excuses: that the water was still boiling (for over 30 minutes), that the tea wasn’t ready, that beverages are served after the meal (which wasn’t the case for the table next to us), and finally, that teas are made in the order received — despite our long wait.

What was most disappointing was that even after my 83-year-old father stood up to ask why his drink still hadn’t been served, the staff continued to deflect responsibility rather than address the issue professionally.

The kitchen may be strong, but the front-of-house team has a long way to go in understanding hospitality, accountability, and basic courtesy towards elderly and...

320 NTD for the steak combo. It includes soup (clam chowder, normally 50 NTD) and drink (80 NTD for example Taiwanese tea, black tea, Americano coffee). There's no 10% service fee. There's water you can take. No cola nor beer are sold here). Need to reserve or walk in and leave your phone number, they call you if there are enough seats available. The location is inside a very small alley and so easily missed if you don't know the location. They have one English menu card. What could be better is if they would mention what's in the food (especially the soup) very important for people have food allergies. I liked that the dish had many flavours (egg, steak, minced meat, garlic bread, potato, broccoli, little corn, some kinda mushroom, salade, salade dressing, some kinda berry water melon, pineapple, the clam chowder...

Easily the best brunch to had in Taiwan. Maybe my best brunch ever. The English breakfast was top notch. Excellent large sausage with the meal, excellent bacon, cooked just right scrambled eggs, a smidge of relish, baked beans, fried tomato and delicious baked/fried potatoes. Not to mention the sour dough toast. The quiche plate was equally spectacular. A generous slice of quiche with plenty of ham inside, thick, delicious and with an authentic pastry crust. And the artfully constructed greens and fruit salad the plate looked terrific and tasted terrific too.

Decent Americano coffee and quick polite service. The place can be busy so reservations are a good idea. Weekends extremely popular so plan on making reservations well ahead or lining up.
