A self serve restaurant charges 10% service fee? This is kind of funny.

We arrived before 2 pm and the best selling item, the Mishima Reserve, had only 1 left. After taking our order, I never saw my waiter again. Most of them are gathering at cashier chatting instead of checking your needs. Most of them are young and working hard and doing what they are told such as cleaning the tables after people are done.

This place is roomy and the music is soft yet loud. They take our empty plates pretty fast, the same guy who delivers the food and takes away our dirty ones.

I don’t mind service charge. It is just funny that there is actually no service, yet 10% service charge. And they tell you right from the beginning, this is a self serve facility.

The place is clean and next to escalator. A really convenient place for people to go upstairs without walking. And the food is not as full as the menu photos shows. I will post photos later after downloading from my camera.

I am not sure I will return. All they care seems to be the Line membership by giving you a small fried sweet yam. My daughter is a slow eater and they politely asked whether she is done and she was too shy to say no. Her plate was taken away with one third of food still in her plate.

Steakhouse grilling-up tasty steaks and large portion set meals at great prices

Food: (4/5) I ordered the rib-meat steak while others in our group ordered the filet. Both cuts were tender, cooked to the ordered doneness, and full of flavor. The hot plate came with some veggies, which weren’t seasoned. The set meal came with a starter salad, appetizer puff pastry soup, and desert. The salad was pretty standard veggies served with either Caesar or Balsamic Vinegar dressing. The puff pastry soup was massive and could’ve served almost as its own entree. You also get access to self-serve coffee / tea and two kinds of soup, which have plenty of ingredients.

Service: (4/5) friendly staff but we did have an issue with our bill (overcharged), which was quickly fixed when we drew attention to the discrepancy

Value: (5/5) this steakhouse offers insane value, especially for their set meals (only $130 NTD more for salad, puff pastry soup, and desert). The steaks are served in pretty generous portions.

Ambience: (5/5) restaurant has multiple seating area but seats are comfy and tables are large

You can upgrade your main course to a set meal. The one I had was Set Meal A (+$139) includes a salad (Caesar/Japanese Salad), an appetiser (Fish Fingers/Chicken Wings/Thai Shrimp Cake/Stir Fry Garlic Clams (+$39)), soup, and a dessert (2 choose 1). Set Meal B (+$109) has everything A does except for the appetiser.

Grilled U.S. Blade Steak ($390): It was succulent and tasted even better with the black pepper sauce. Most importantly, the quality it had was as high as the expensive ones.

In addition, Fish Fingers were greatly fried, crunchy and not greasy. The soup was covered with a fragrant and crumbly domed bread. There were Lemon Cake and Mille Crepe Cake and I chose the latter for dessert. The crepe was creamy, authentic and of greatly layered texture.

To sum up, the service was nice and quite efficient. The prices were moderate for a meal. Overall, it’s a 9.5 out of 10!
