I recently visited Watami Kitchen in Taipei with three colleagues, and it was an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant’s ambiance is casual yet inviting, making it a perfect spot for both relaxed dining and business meetings.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the hot pot. Each of us had our own individual heating device, which added a personal touch to the meal. The broth was rich and flavorful, serving as the perfect base for cooking the meat. The quality of the meat was exceptional, fresh and tender, enhancing the overall hot pot experience.
What stood out at Watami Kitchen was the variety in their menu. Even though we were focused on the hot pot, the array of Japanese dishes available was impressive. From sushi and ramen to grilled dishes and tempura, there’s something for every palate.
The service at Watami Kitchen deserves special mention. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations that complemented our meal choices well. They were quick to assist with the hot pot setup and ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.
In conclusion, Watami Kitchen is a gem in Taipei for those who love Japanese cuisine. Whether you’re a fan of hot pot or looking to explore a variety of Japanese dishes, this restaurant won’t disappoint. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreThere are refillable rice, soup, and all-you-can-eat milk soft serve with 6 flavours of syrups and 3 toppings. The soft serve with the matcha syrup is my favourite choice.
Besides, you can also add on more things to your set for extra money and drink bar costs $49 per person.
Japanese Wagyu and Rice Box Set ($399): The Wagyu can be more cooked if you don’t like its original doneness (Medium). Afterwards, around 10 slices of Wagyu tasted so succulent and of finest texture. The sauce also complimented the slices and rice well. It’s definitely the best and most authentic Japanese rice box I’ve ever tried. Moreover, there are also a steamed egg and 4 side dishes in the set. There were no onions put unlike Gyudon (Japanese Beef Rice Bowl), only green onions were added. (I dislike onions so I wrote this note)
In conclusion, if you are so eager to try Wagyu but at lower prices, I highly recommend this restaurant because the prices are quite reasonable for its portion, value and quality. The service and speed are also nice and efficient. Overall, it’s absolutely a 10 out of 10!
FYI, you scan QR code to place order, the maximum dining time is 90 minutes, and no 10% service charge is included. The tableware is inside the drawer on the side...
Read moreThis is one of those experiences where the food advertised on the outside menu is much better looking than the actual food...
We ordered the hot pot special and the eel rice set.
The hot pot special was not bad, but it was pretty ordinary in terms of flavor and at the end of the meal my mouth just felt salty. And the eel dish was very small and filled with more bones than ordinary eel.
I gave this place 2 stars since the food was much lower than my expectation, it felt much more like a fast food place than a restaurant with a quality meal.
The nail in the coffin was the free ice cream that they advertised outside. It looks so good, matcha soft serve... But it's actually way too sweet and the texture feels super low quality. Really telling of what type of store this is.
The restaurant chain/owner really knows how to sell food. But hasn't quite nailed down a good experience.
The staff is great though!
But there are so many better options nearby for the price point, it's not worth...
