I have to be honest - the location is perfectly situated outside Taipei Main Station hence we selected this hotel. But to give an honest review - DO NOT STAY at this hotel!!! There is an EXTREMELY moldy, damp, vomit worthy smell going through the entire corridors into our hotel rooms. The moment the lift door opened, I wanted to throw up. We struggled to make it through one night, asked the staff for air purifiers. They were nice to give us some and agreed themselves that there is a terrible stench in this hotel. They opened up all our hotel windows and we slept through the night with blazing winds through the windows. This particular day, they had a 6hr electricity shut down midnight, which meant our fridges and lights all off. I don’t think we should have been charged for this first night, but we didn’t argue as we did still sleep the night. I think the hygiene and quality control of the hotel is completely lacking. There is mold is showers, ceilings. I’ve never been to a hotel in which, other guests also living in nearby rooms.. also have to clench their noses walking up and down corridors and rooms, everyone asking for purifiers.. which doesn’t help.
The staff seem completely aware of this situation, as we originally booked for a week stay, but we requested full refund for all remaining days. They didn’t even ask us why we are leaving, and just approved the full refund for all remaining days, I assume it’s because there’s many other new incoming guests queuing behind us .. and they don’t want to make a fuss or for our situation to badly influence others.
It’s unfortunate I have to write this, as the staff were genuinely very nice inclusive of the door man. But honestly, for other travellers, the hotel air is not clean and not healthy to breathe. I’ve never had to sleep with a mask inside a hotel before.
Great location but I really hope this hotel can improve their air quality, hygiene quality and fix this serious...
Read moreLet's start with the hotel itself. The location is extremely good, being located directly opposite Taipei Main Station and walking distance away from Taoyuan Metro Station; very convenient for travellers saddled with many belongings. The hotel is well connected to Taipei station.
The amenities and infrastructure surrounding the hotel is also good; below the hotel there is a small mall with a few restaurants. Nearby there is HOYII main station with also many japanese style restaurants. Nearby the hotel there are also streets lined with shops selling various foods. The hotel is next to a large shopping mall, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, as well.
Was less impressed with the facade of the hotel, because the paint was peeling giving the building an unsightly appearance. There appears to be no ramp for travellers with luggage, but the service was good and the porters prompt and respectful to help you with the luggage. They also granted our request of extra pillows without much hassle. On the first floor there is also a Family Mart and a cafe (another cafe, Caesar cafe, opens soon).
As for the room itself, I was expecting a more old fashioned style room but I was pleasantly surprised that the fittings were quite modern. The room we had possessed good views of the surrounding area. All areas were clean (except the windows) and appears to be no sign of the 'dangerous mold' in the bathroom that has been mentioned by other reviewers. The room was large enough for my family of four although there were only three chairs, unfortunately.
Toilet was a little small but still manageable. Overall experience was pretty good although we could tell that the surrounding rooms were populated. Room is soundproof and NO noise can be heard from the adjacent rooms. Room service is excellent and rearranged bed neatly, help us unclog the toilet. Excellent seven days in the hotel, would...

We had long stay here and the following is our experience in family room.
Everytime when we took lift to the ground floor (level 1), the staff saw us but they didnt even say their morning or afteroon greeting. Basically, pretending that we are invisible.
Carpet flooring which is very dusty and bed sheet not clean as well causing body sensitive and discomfort.
Air conditionering is control by their central control system whereby they will either off the aircon or set it at a very high temperature assuming that everyone is cold when the weather outside is cold. Room is really warm and suffocating, ask them for solution, yet they still wanted to provide us warmer which in fact we are already very warm, when we request to lower the temperature to a cooler degree.
All kinds of excuses given by them, asking us to open the window slightly to cool the room but when window is open up, dust flew into the room and the outside environment is really noisy. Lend us a dusty small fan which cant be use.
I dont understand why they have to take control of all the room air conditionering, those people who feels warm cant even adjust the temperature ourselves. Kept telling us that others feels cold then what about those of us that feels warm and are suffocating inside the room?
If the hotel let each room take control of their own aircon, wont this solve the problem? I assume they are trying to save the electricity, which is ridiculous when we spend so much money staying a hotel which gives us such an...
