this place is a hidden gem in gonguan. they have deliciously spicy noodle with a lot of customization options. if you're a spice lover, this place is for you.

many local taiwanese considers this the most authentic "sour spicy rice noodles" you can find in taipei. the origin of this food is from chongqing, china. from my experience, it's hard to find a top tier restaurant that offers this dish like Malaba.

pro-tip bring your own drink/water ahead of times. get a lot of napkins. you will need it. expect to pay around $150-300 per person. worth every dollar!

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for another in the area and am extremely glad I did. Got the Pork Chop Noodle/排骨麵 ($150NT) and the Beef Noodle Soup/牛肉麵 ($150NT). The bowls have varying spicy levels from mild/小辣 to extra spicy/大辣. Went with the mild level since I didn't want to regret my decision later.

The beef noodle soup had thick cut noodles and a flavorful soup base but the pork chop noodle blew me away. The meat fell off the bone and was amazingly tender while the soup reminded me of my mom's home cooking.

They also have assorted braised items/滷味 available.

Will definitely come back for more pork chop...

This place was very solid. Service was fast, servers were helpful in giving me recommendations (particularly in advising what level of spice to get). Got the pork chop spicy noodle soup, and the 大辣 (big spicy). Definitely was pretty spicy, but there was a good amount of meat, noodles were well cooked, vegetables were fresh, and felt very satisfied after.
