Surprisingly courteous staff for a club. Had to try out the local Taiwanese club, and the prices were reasonable. For having to deal with a lot of people under the influence, the staff were quite patient. They tell you all the options, costs, etc.
SMELL: You will leave smelling like smoke guaranteed. Everything you wear will be contaminated so don't wear anything nice unless you're going to clean it the next day. Everybody is smoking and there is poor ventilation.
BOTTLES: We ended up getting bottle service as it made sense. The club can get very crowded, so if you don't have a bottle, expect to get pushed around. Also note that there are elevated platforms everywhere, so it's extremely easy to trip if you're not paying attention to the floor.
MUSIC: As for the music, it was good. A lot of EDM and hardcore music. Transitions were a bit awkward and the energy levels of the floor were up/down. Would like to see a bit more mix rather than just hardcore.
COSTS: Expected cost of each bottle ~$150 for a 750mL (USA clubs are about $300). Service charge 10%. Make sure to grab a round booth on the top floor. The main dance floor ones are extremely crowded and hard to move around/talk. Tickets for men are about $20-$25 USD. Includes 2 drink tickets for wells/beer.
Cost for more OJ as a chaser is $10 USD. They also ran out of Goose and Kettle. Ciroc was all they had left.
Random tip: Women are free on Wednesdays...
Read moreThe bouncers try to explain the rules but they become short and say things that to a foreign guy feel like a jerk is talking. But thats really not the main problem. Main problem is, unless u have a very GOOD english translator, cannot understand these rules...or unless u frequent clubs and just know already. My translator missed the part about how u MUST HAVE 8 PEOPLE TO GET A RESERVATION. She didnt say this part clear enough. And the bouncer i guess he thought i already knew that. Now i had called some guy at omni and they said its ok to cone tonight. He also said a lot of other ....... sounds. Cannot understnad the sounds because call quality is very low.. i guess maybe he tood me thisbrule. But i didnt get it. So i am talkingbto the bouncer and ask him what if i call ans say there are 2 people will they turn us away because i gotbthe wrong peraon? He said no theybwouldnt turn u away. Well here is a classic case of Taiwanese heing tokonpolite and u dont even know what they kean. He meant to sound nice. But when i cted like i dont understand why cant come inside he said i was playng a...
Read moreThis place was awful. Save your precious time and avoid this scam of a club. If you frequent the night scene in Taipei, you'll know that the 1650NTD they charged as an entrance fee is RIDICULOUS. Have table service? Don't worry, they'll still charge you the 1650NTD to enter. This second rate club charged the highest entrance fee in Taipei "because Myst and Chess closed down."
Not all was bad. The sound system and music was great. But my entire experience was ruined even before I got inside thanks to the scumbag bouncers who guard the entrance as if you were trying to gain entrance to their holy temple. Word of advice to the bouncers - that's all you are, a bouncer. Stop acting like you own the place and being rude and sarcastic to patrons because you sound ignorant and uneducated, you illiterate losers. But don't worry, there won't be a next time. I wouldn't come back if you were the last remaining club in Taipei.
Advice to management - teach your bouncers to act like decent...
