WHI KE' Bar — Restaurant in Taipei

外國人 here to say that this bar was certifiably one of my favorites to visit. Upon entry, I was a little nervous about the alcohol selection considering the smaller size of the location. However, these fears were quickly assuaged by the two excellent bartenders I was served by on the night I went. David and Jack, thank you so much for your expertise and hospitality.

The main concept of the restaurant revolves around the fusion of whisk(e)y and sake in a wide variety of cocktails that were very foreign (and delicious!) to the western palate. One such mixed drink, 鐵觀音Daiquiri, featured the sweet notes of an apple sake among other spirits, and it was a very nice drink to have with the snacks they have on offer. Furthermore, they have a pretty good whisk(e)y selection, with some local varieties (Kavalan, Omar), Japanese produced (Yamazaki 12yr, I believe I saw Hibiki), as well as scotches and peat whisk(e)ys.

Their whisk(e)ys are delightful to sip neat over a conversation with the bartenders. For those who speak English better than they do Mandarin, David made every effort to make me feel right at home. (If I didn’t know any better I would have assumed he was a Californian!). It was this kind treatment that helped me feel more at ease as a 外國人in a Taipei bar. Jack helped me out with selecting whiskey to sip neat, and his cocktail-making is simply a joy to watch. Though I would have liked to have met the master bartender overseeing these two fine gentlemen, it seems that will have to wait until I can return to beautiful Taipei again.

In short, this place is truly hidden gem tucked away in an unassuming spot in the Xinyi district. You would be remiss to not visit...

#台北酒吧尋訪 北醫附近新開的酒吧 信義區想嘗試新酒吧的可以衝看看了！ 🍸18禁 彈珠汽水 350$ 蠻特別的口感，完美融合香蕉跟香草的甜味於基底的琴酒，但整體又不會太過甜膩

🍸要不要吃糖糖 350$ 偏甜，但因為蘆筍汁的關係所以喝起來其實蠻清爽（主要是因為瓶子真的很可愛啊😍）

🍸茉 400$ 個人很喜歡的一款！以清酒為基底，加上巴比琴酒跟茉莉香味，酒感不會太重，喜歡酸酸甜甜口味的人激烈推薦這款！

🍕mini 瑪格麗特披薩 200$ 🫕日式關東煮 220$ 很喜歡的一道～除了湯非常鮮甜以外，裡面的料也非常實在，黑輪很Q彈，白蘿蔔也很入味，是解酒神器啊～而且冬天喝瞬間暖上心頭的非常幸福(˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵)

🍤奶油蟹肉可樂餅 280$ 很有特色，吃得到蟹肉的鮮甜，加上奶油的香甜跟厚度適中的外酥的炸皮，每一口都很滿足，喜歡蟹肉或可麗餅口感的推薦試試看！ 「WHI KE’ Bar」這名字的WHI 其實就是Whiskey, 後半部分的KE則是清酒Sake 的ke， 但當然除了威士忌跟清酒的調酒，裡面也有很多其他特色調酒

總而言之，是家選擇性很多的酒吧，連清酒的調酒也有真的是超難得🤩而且每款的風味組合都算頗有特色，完全不輸給東區一級戰區的酒吧們，可以說是信義區吳興街的巷子裡少數難得的質感酒吧😎
