Once, my friends and I decided to try a newly opened pho restaurant near our house. From the outside, the restaurant looked very appealing with bright signage and modern decor. However, the actual experience was entirely different. As we stepped inside, I noticed the atmosphere was quite stuffy and uncomfortable. The tables and chairs were placed too close together, creating a cramped feeling. The staff was not enthusiastic, and they seemed indifferent to the customers. When the bowl of pho arrived, I hoped the food would make up for the poor first impression. Unfortunately, the pho did not meet expectations. The broth lacked depth of flavor, missing the richness of the herbs and spices that are essential. The beef was tough and had a strange smell, while the rice noodles were too hard and not as soft as expected. The accompanying herbs were also not fresh, with some even wilted. Especially disappointing was the dipping sauce, which was too bland and didn't enhance the flavor of the dish. Moreover, the price of the bowl of pho was not cheap, making the experience even more disappointing. Clearly, choosing a newly opened restaurant can sometimes be a risk, and this time, I was unlucky. From this experience, I learned not to be deceived by the exterior appearance of a restaurant. The quality and taste of the food are what truly matter. I will be more cautious in choosing restaurants to ensure more enjoyable and worthwhile dining...
Read moreNot authentic at all. Read the negative reviews from those who know, ignore the positive ones especially by reviewers who have few reviews to their name. Don't be fooled by people's ignorance or biases.
Place lacks air conditioning, there are lots of mosquitoes too. The manager may claim they have A/C but if true they chose not to turn it on. The arrogance is telling in their responses.
Our recent experience with Pho here was very disappointing. The Pho arrived lukewarm, much closer to room temperature than the steaming hot I expected. Ideally, Pho should be served piping hot to ensure the flavors are fully developed and the experience enjoyable.
While the broth itself wasn't incredibly bad, it did lack flavor; other aspects fell short of expectations. The bean sprouts were par-boiled or boiled instead of being served raw, which is customary in authentic Pho. It's like every item was sitting in it's own dish ready to be thrown into the bowl of broth which has been sitting outside for a while.
Additionally, the menu included sandwiches which were sitting outside for a long time. This, combined with the lukewarm temperature, raised some questions about the restaurant's commitment to food safe protocols. More info below.
Many in our party became ill after dining here. While we cannot definitively claim food poisoning (that's almost impossible to prove), the temperature issue warrants caution and concern. I won't...
Read moreHalf Done Beef and Brisket Pho - I love that they used authentic thin Vietnamese noodles instead of thick Taiwanese rice noodles. Great decision by the restaurant to insist on authenticity. Generous portion of beef and noodles! I could have meat in every mouthful. You can choose the half done beef for a more tender bite. Broth could be strengthened. Large lemon wedge and delicious in-house chili sauce provided. I appreciated the spring onions would love it if there were more vegetables. I would order this again.
Adam Quy Signature Banh Mi - Absolute MUST order! Crispy outside and fluffy inside bun. Delicious beef and sauce too. Fresh veggies. Highly recommended!
Service - Service was attentive and speedy. Food came quickly and staff proactively refilled my tea very often. I liked that the beef noodles was brought from the kitchen with trolley. This is safer for everyone.
Atmosphere - I hope a door can be installed in the future so that it will prevent houseflies from flying into the restaurant. It flew on my tea cup so I stopped drinking the tea. I was sitting on the first floor, maybe it might be better in the second floor. The seats on the second floor look nice and has the...
