Fantastic vegan dumpling spot. My family (two 20+ years vegetarians, one 40+ years vegan) thought this was one of the best restaurants of our trip. We tried the seaweed soup (simple, not as salty as I'd like, comforting), spicy and sesame sauce special noodles (delicious, not very hot, cucumber slivers were fresh and crunchy), and each of the dumplings remaining that day: leek (seasonal), chinese cabbage, radish, cabbage, and bottle gourd. While, of course, not as flavorful as most meat-filled dumplings, they were quite tasty, the ratio of filling to thickish dough was good, and the naturally-died color-coding was fun and helpful. All our dishes were quickly delivered, well porportioned for the price (~250 NT for our entire meal), and warm, healthy, and filling. Most importantly, the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, with clear and easy English and obvious care and pride in her craft. We arrived just 30 minutes before closing yet she welcomed us, took time explaining the menu, and didn't rush any of the customers. Typical Taiwanese restaurant, in which food is being prepared all around you, TV is on in a corner, there's some yelling across the room, and you feel as comfortable and well-fed as if you were at...
Read moreThis place is such a treasure! It looks unassuming, unpretentious, but the food is second to none, as is the hospitality.
The eatery seems to be operated by a family, and the lady who spoke to us was fluent in English, and took the time to explain their menu and offerings. They specialise in noodles and dumplings, all made by hand. She gave us recommendations, walked us through spicy-ness levels, what the skin of each dumpling was made from (all natural and no colouring, and they each bring a different tone to the plate), and we were so impressed that after starting with a noodle portion and 10 dumplings to share, we doubled it! We were two people by the way.
Every texture is perfect. The noodles are cooked al dente and have a good bite, with sauces and vegetable julienned to create the ideal mouthfeel. The dumplings are rich and plump, and my favourite was the bok choy, fresh and slightly peppery.
We’ll definitely come back. And we still have to take pics - we were so taken by the food that just had to dig...

F&B: Best veg dumplings I had. The filling is great, fragrant and explosive of flavours. the dough is handmade with great original blends, thin yet chewy. Most of the veg dumplings that one can find in the supermarket are terrible fillings:. Plain carrots and mushroom with white dough that taste bland and comes undone in mere seconds. Here one can find daily dumplings which take less than five minutes to cook, or dumplings of your choice which are made on the spot.
Service : fast and speedy. The ladies here are hustlers that talk at the speed of light. Location: next to the highway, slightly farther away from the subway but worth the trip.
