For B1 branch on Dunhua Road. Wait staff and service was excellent - best (and most appropriate) dining etiquette I've experienced in Taipei so far. Little difference between the NT1500 and NT1800 degustations in my opinion. 7 dishes each. Some lovely mains, however, salads, fruit platters, red bean soup dessert and coffee were not only FAR TOO ORDINARY to part of a lavish restaurant classified as "FINE DINING" but also irrelevant to Japanese culinary. To save your bucks, just order the succulent sashimi! Comparing cost and quality to Australia/Melbourne fine dining standards, Mitsui pitifully loses it for Taipei... conforming to the central Taiwanese culture of efficient food production as opposed to personalisation of table foods...

Place was not near capacity, yet food came out at a snail's pace, tea was replenished once every half hour, and the manager did not seem to care. Food isn't fresh and shouldn't marketed as such and simply was not worth the wait. I got had a table of four all ordering set dishes. Extremely disappointed given the amazing decor which is why this place was a two star rating...
