Food - Beyond Excellent, a real New York slice Service - The staff are awesome and friendly. The owner's even from New York City! Atmosphere - it's got vibes! Price - I spent a bit more, but the average person would probably grab 1 slice and a drink, roughly 200 NT or so for a solid meal.
The hiearchy of good pizza in Taipei has changed! There's a new top dog in town. Hands down the closest thing you'll get to real New York Pizza this side of the eastern hemisphere. I'm not just saying this because I know the the proprietor of the restaurant!
Chef Yigal brings to Maji Square the best New York style pizza you can get in Taiwan and most of Asia. Is it the best Pizza? Probably not, but it's damn well up there among the best
The overall taste, mouth feel, consistency, and aroma of Roo's pizza is 100% authentic to what it's like to get a slice in the Big Apple. The only thing missing, and for good reason, is the horrible pool of oil and grease!
Over the course of three visits, I've had the pepperoni, the mushroom and the meat lovers. Each and every slice was a hit of home with every bite. The crunch of the initial bite, the heat and warmth of the strands of cheese that hits your chin as the cheese pull breaks, all of it immediately transported me back the greasy hole in the wall dollar slices I consumed growing up.
Roo's will be a Taipei pizza institution as it grows. This is 100% a place not to be missed. I highly recommend a visit. What better way to wind down a night partying with a nice warm slice of pizza, a cocktail in a pouch, and great company?
All that's missing now are a subway entrance, bottles of snapple, and a beatup arcade cabinet, and i'll be right back home...

From the moment you step inside, you're transported to an simple pizzeria with mouth-watering aromas wafting from the ovens. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in their pizza-making craft! They speak Mandarin and English!
Now, let's talk about the pizza itself. The crust is thin, crispy, and perfectly charred, just as it should be. The sauce is tangy and well-seasoned, and the cheese is melted to perfection. One of the best things about Roos Pizza Bar is the affordability. You can get a slice for around $120 and a whole pie for $800. This makes it the perfect spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner with friends after the Maji parties!
Overall, if you're looking for a true taste of New York-style pizza without breaking the bank, Roos Pizza Bar is a must-visit. It's authentic, delicious, and budget-friendly – what more could...
Read moreNot as cheap as written on Google and they serve the pizza new york style which was something completely new for me. They charge per slice (costs 120 ntd minimum) instead of charging per pizza, it is still possible to buy a whole pizza which will be quite expensive.
They have both vegetarian and non vegetarian options.
Were i come from we dont have this type of pizza or this kind of pizza culture so for that reason it was a nice experience and i tried their salami pizza which cost about 800-900 NTD.
The staff is very polite and friendly and the pizza bar is nice and clean. But it will be probably the first and last time i buy a whole pizza from there because i prefer to eat a whole pizza by myself rather than eating slices or sharing with others.
But it is still good place to eat and i would still recommend people to give this...
