We had an extremely disappointing experience when we came here for lunch. We arrived at the opening of lunch service and placed our order (fish and chips, and bbq chicken). We then waited, and waited, and waited. After 35 minutes we noticed that a couple who was there before is finally got their first dish. Now, keep in mind we all ordered at the beginning of meal service before the lunch crowd came. After 45 minutes with no food at our table, I asked our server how much longer it would be to get our food? Her reply was “I’m sorry the kitchen is busy.” She didn’t bother to even go and ask the kitchen if they had an ETA on our order. I told her if our food couldn’t be served in the next 10 minutes, then we would cancel our order and find someplace else. During this time, we saw 4-5 servers standing around waiting for the kitchen to deliver orders. My meal finally came (not my wife’s), and I had almost finished my food by the time the kitchen managed to get food to my wife. There appears to be zero kitchen management here. As the lunch crowd came in towards the end of our wait, I noticed other tables had the same problem of one person getting their food long before the other. Until they get their kitchen sorted out, stay far away from this place unless you have unlimited time to wait for your food, and don’t care if the people at your table receive their meals at...
Read moreIt is an open air restaurant with British style food and is open until 2:00am. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced. The menu comes with a 10% service charge. The food is tasty but I did find the pies a bit dry as the pastry crust is a bit too thick for my liking. Special mention is the ribs, calamari, loaded fries, the pasta especially the pesto chicken which we have tried so far. The portion sizes are big so come hungry. They have a very long happy hour (11:00 -19:00). You can buy a beer tower. You can spend as little as 300 to 400 per person but if you are like me and eat and socialize for 6 hours and buy a beer tower then you can spend about 2300nt. There is live entertainment from up and coming artists as well as dancing on some night in Maji Square which you can watch from your table. If you're a people watcher then this is a great restaurant to do it from. The only downside that I have is that service can be slow if it is busy as there are not a lot of servers. This is my only reason for giving it 4 stars. Rachel, the manager is a great host and has a wonderful welcome smile. P.S. bring bug spray as you are...
Read moreThe location is great, nice to be able to sit and watch musicians and others perform while enjoying a beer. Selection of beer and cider is good, prices are a bit expensive, unfortunately staff service leaves a lot to be desired and the food is not great. I was served a Ceasar Salad, the lettuce was clearly rotten, the brown edges were actually turning to slime. I cannot even begin to imagine how someone would put that onto a paying customers plate. To be fair, they did take it away and replace it with another more acceptable salad, still not 100% fresh, but significantly better. Staff hygeine was not great from what I observed. One staff member was picking his nose then serving at the bar. Later the same person used the public toilets and went back to the bar without washing his hands. I will not eat in this...
